You may recently have received information from Highland Broadband.

There is no doubt that businesses benefit from fast, reliable broadband, and that visitors expect a broadband service comparable to speeds they have at home. Unfortunately the current provision in Newtonmore lags behind modern standards found elsewhere in Scotland. We have fibre only as far as the distribution cabinet. The connection into homes and businesses is via copper wire and this significantly reduces the speed and efficiency of WiFi.

Highland Broadband is proposing to provide fibre links directly to homes and businesses. However, the order in which they will install the cabling will depend on demand. They are holding a community event on Wednesday next, 28 February, between 9:30 and 11:30 in the Village Lesser Hall. If you are interested and able, please drop in to find out more.
