🚨 𝗦𝗰𝗮𝗺 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 – 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝗰𝗮𝗺𝘀 🚨

Scams come in many forms – the only guarantee is that they WILL come.
This time we’re highlighting Health Scams – less talked about, but just as dangerous.

💡 Bottom line: they’re no different from all the others – scumbags trying to steal your hard-earned money.

👉 Please beware and use common sense at all times:

🔹 If it sounds too good to be true – it is.
🔹 If there’s time pressure on the offer – 99.99% chance it’s a scam.
🔹 If you’re asked for personal data (even something small) – 99.99% chance it’s a scam.
🔹 Never share PINs, passwords, or even parts of them. Legitimate organisations will NEVER ask.
🔹 Always enable 2-Factor Authentication – especially on bank accounts, shopping sites (Amazon, airlines, holiday booking, delivery apps, etc.).

Stay alert. Stay safe.

Better still Buy Local (even on-line form small local companies) and help small business.

Remember any profits from small businesses stay in our local community whereas profits from big business go to a few very rich people somewhere else in the world.

Those looking to trick you into giving up your hard earned cash are always coming up with new scams and resurrecting old ones, albeit with a new twist. We are all familiar with the "Are you a Human" type check (or CAPTCHA) - well the low life are using it now to try and scam you.
Some details in the images below to look out for from AVAST

Remember the best protection you can have is yourself and all your staff, team and family that have access to your systems whether they be at home or in work.

If it is too good to be true - IT IS

Banks and other responsible companies will NEVER ask you for your PIN number, Password or other security code

DO NOT DOWNLOAD / INSTALL or RUN programs you are asked to by those pertaining to be there to help you.

If someone pertaining to be from BT, OpenReach or other provider call to tell you your computer and/or internet connection is not secure or working correctly HANG UP - these companies DO NOT do that - this is a scam.

If the caller claims to be from a company you do use (and so often they are not [obvious scam] ) and you want to check [ALWAYS CHECK) call your provider on a number that you have for them, NOT the one used to call you - AND from a different phone - if you can't do that hang up, leave it for an hour and then call them.

And ALWAYS use the BLOCK feature on your phone to block numbers and report them.

A wee warning from Avast about another scam that is out there.
No PC or computer security will help you here - It is, as with so many scams, is down to being vigilant, having some rules and processes in place, accepting "if it is to good to be true it probably is" and finally check and double check if you are fool enough to be brave and believe most of this s**t.

You never know where the next threat is coming from?
Being safe is about being careful, being vigilant and never trusting (a sad way to live but unfortunately when on-line it has to be).
Even if it looks like the email if from someone you know be carful - double check the address of both the sender (if email) and the actual link to download and open any file - look for small typos in the domain name, always a good indicator.

You can not be too carful
Scams, Ransomware and Identify Theft are now unfortunately a part of life - sad that may be.

Being prepared, cautions and not trusting anything that is unsolicited or may be questionable is your best defence.

Also keep your systems up-to-date including Operating Systems and your AntiVirus protection programs on ALL your devices.
