Green Card Design

Green Card Design Greetings cards for birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions. The name Green Card comes from a bad pun.

I've been designing and making cards under the moniker Green Card since the early 90s; mainly for friends and clients who have bought my artwork. I have always been interested in environmental issues and, at the time I was originally working on some collage based card designs. A friend commented on how "green" collage was as a medium as it was effectively recycling and reusing things previously co

nsidered rubbish. We put the two together and came up with Green Card. These green considerations are still important to me and my work. I work with a fantastic printer who uses only carbon neutral card stock and where possible, envelopes are recycled or carbon neutral too; making my cards REALLY green cards :)

With my "web head" on, I'm currently doing some design and development for a really interesting AHRC (Arts & Humanities Research Council) funded project called Liberating Histories. It's based at Northumbria University and is partnered with the Women's Library at the LSE.

It's a project exploring feminist magazines from the beginning of the Women’s Liberation Movement in 1968 to the present day.

Phase 1 of the website went live recently. www.LiberatingHistories.org
