My prep has begun with a new hair colour and booking some holiday clubs for my kiddo! ( has the best summer club for those in the area 😎)

Nothing prepares you. And that is coming from a gal who LOVES to be organised!

Life has been chaotic with heartbreak, uncertainty and blurred clarity.

Whilst clients thrived and enquiries shot up, I have been dealing with a lot of personal issues behind closed doors.

So what have I done to stop myself from imploding?

πŸ˜” I let myself feel. Angry, sad, happy, enthusiastic, unmotivated.

πŸ• I took time for myself and be surrounded by the most amazing people that give me strength, courage and joy (especially the mini me in the picture!)

Marketing is a HUGE area to tackle as an e-commerce business. Mapping out a marketing calendar is essential for staying organised, ensuring consistency, and optimising your efforts throughout the year.

Most of my clients have a focus on social media, email and influencer marketing, so here are some of the tips I give them:

βœ… Define your goals: Are you aiming to increase sales, grow your email list, or improve brand awareness? Having clear objectives helps you prioritise your marketing activities.

βœ… Align goals with seasons: Consider the best times of the year to promote specific products (e.g., holiday season, back-to-school sales, etc.).

βœ… Utilise a content calendar: Plan blog posts, social media content, influencer posts, email newsletters, videos, and other creative content in advance. Include relevant dates such as public holidays, product launch dates, or seasonal events.

βœ… Leverage key shopping dates: Mark special shopping days like Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Christmas, and Valentine’s Day on your calendar. Customer's are lazy. There I said it.

I don't blame them, because I'm a lazy customer too. We want things to flow with ease, without unnecessary steps and a shopping experience that just works.

There are a few key elements that you should be on top of when it comes to your customers journey:

βœ… Less clicks, more kerching - make sure that from adding items to there cart to order confirmation, there are minimal steps. Ensure pages load correctly and are not bogged now with unnecessary information.

βœ… 5-star customer service - get those FAQs up to date, have expectations laid out for when they do reach out, and ensure you personalise there experience (this is always a great time for product recommendations 😘).

βœ… Website maintenance - keep those products up to date, restock information clear and delivery timescales correct.

Your socials aren't just to sell, sell, sell. They should tell your brand's story, allowing your audience to connect deeper with you (and not just on a product level).

You want to build brand loyalty, encouraging them to shop with your time and time again, recommend you to others and get excited when they see you pop up on their feed!

How can you do this? Glad you asked:

Be consistent - I bash on constantly about this but your audience ain't going to know you are there if you are posting randomly. This doesn't mean you need to clutter your feed with 3 posts a day, but by setting a realistic posting schedule that is manageable.

Make content your audience wants to engage with - utilise features on your key platforms e.g. question features on Stories, polls, encouraging people to comment, etc.

Be transparent - unexpected delay in orders? Products arrived and they are faulty? Tell your audience. You don't need to go into the nitty gritty, but be upfront about things that have gone wrong (and gone right!). This allows them to see there is a human being behind the brand.

By doing these simple 3 steps, you will start to build a stronger following and create die hard fans of your biz.
