Looking back to our work with NHS Central and North West London. The Special Memory Service supports the carers of people with dementia. Take-up for the group had been low, this video campaign raised awareness of the free service.

The world can seem like a gloomy place sometimes but there is positivity and kindness all around us.

Some of the team joined the Northamptonshire Community Foundation (NCF) project visit day to see the positive impact the funding grants awarded by NCF have. We feel lucky to have met some inspiring people doing wonderful things.

Volunteers at Buddies of Beckets working together to make Beckets Park a brighter, better and busier place.

We heard the story of two inspiring ladies at Elsie's caf. Northampton's Real Junk Food Project. The project began as a one-day event, evolving into an amazing multi-site mission. Each day the volunteers feed hungry people, with excess food that would have been otherwise destined for landfill.

The little door in a row of terrace houses that looks unremarkable at first. Behind the door, the Tools For Self Reliance - Northampton volunteers refurbish old tools which are then donated to projects abroad, or here in Northamptonshire. ‘Tools’ provides work experience and volunteering opportunities for adults with disabilities, health issues and other disadvantages. It’s an incredible project.

Today was a great reminder that even in the hardest of times, positivity and joy is ever-present.

We’re really proud to be Friends of the Foundation and look forward to continuing to support the fantastic work they do.
