A couple of weeks ago I headed to Canva HQ in London for the SocialDay "Content That Performs in 2026" event after I had been to V&A East in the afternoon.

It was such a great evening with a panel discussion about what's actually working in social media right now and of course a bit about AI. It was hosted by Social Day and Digital Women founder, Lucy Hall. The panel included Archana Dhankar, Rhianne Lee, Anthony Leung & Dan Knowlton on the stage.

There was plenty of time to chat with other people in the industry over drinks and pizza when we arrived. I enjoyed chatting with Lorna Bladen, heading up the Small Business community and Gonzalo Rosado Morgan the community leader for the UK at Canva.

And a highlight for me was bumping into a few fellow Digital Women members, Jaysica Marvell, Anna Skipwith and Fatema Haji.

This Thursday I'm heading to London for The Ignited Woman Event, hosted by Laura Brunton, and I cannot wait!

It's a full day with 250 brilliant women in business, featuring some incredible speakers. I'm particularly looking forward to hearing from Jo Tutchener-Sharp OBE, Tamu Thomas, author of Women Who Work Too Much and the blooming Sophie Lee, author of Beyond Palatable and founder of Electric Peach.

It looks to be one of those events that's less about sitting and listening and more about really connecting, sharing ideas and coming away genuinely fired up. It's exactly what I need right now.

May is a busy birthday month here. It was my mum's birthday last week, then it's mine next week, followed by my eldest son the week after that.

And today I'm travelling down to Angel to boogie up a storm to some soul music to celebrate Lorraine Thomas' birthday.

Two weeks ago today, I was up in Birmingham for Matthew Hughes' third TubeFest event.

I met Dr Ruth Machin and a few new people whilst mingling. I caught up with Minal Patel, Laura Goodsell, Sapna Pieroux and Sophie Lee, who was speaking about stories.

There were two stages and I enjoyed the speakers I got to see, including:

- Charles Kerr (YouTube)

- Robin Waite about Fearless Partnerships

- Adrian Salisbury, Before the Hook

- Kaelyn Apple about growing your community

- Giles Campbell Longley from the parkour channel STORROR & Rob Balasabas in an interview style chat about building a stable creator business. I stood up and asked a couple of questions as I'm a fan of their channel.

- Sam Deville about the middle stages of business.

- Katie Fawkes sharing tips on planning your videos and going live with minimal or no edits to publish your video.

- Dan Considine (TikTok).

- Then the Speaker Q&A panel to round out the day of talks.

I got my headshots done with HAYDNB Photography in the lunch break.

And had a quick drink in the bar to chat a bit more and decompress from the day packed with tips, tricks and talks.
