“Just have a little patience” sang Gary Barlow in their 2006 hit called, well, Patience. (What a talented singer and songwriter he is). Such is the case with website development where the duration of the project is dependent on the client for text and images, and they are incredibly busy and you rarely find yourself at the top of the priority list.

We have not one, but two clients whose project started a year and a half ago! One is nearing completion, awaiting those final content pieces, and another client who has given up on the idea of writing content, and has asked us to sort it out for him!

We work with good content writers who we outsource to when possible, but when a client insists, how can you speed up this process!? It’s frustrating, but mostly you need to be patient, but be pushy when appropriate and learn to work with the rhythms of the client. It's about collaboration and finding the best way to keep projects moving while supporting our clients.

After nearly 28 years in website promotional work, nothing beats hearing about our clients' phenomenal success stories. One of our recent PPC and SEO clients, an aerosol manufacturer, just blew us away with their results!

An email and conversation with one of our most recent PPC and SEO clients who manufactures aerosols revealed that they had recently had an order from a new client for over 54K units!

And in the same week they had taken a phone call from Halfords – yes, THAT Halfords – asking for a meeting to discuss how they might work together!! We have never achieved such great results so quickly, and to say I’m chuffed to bit for the client – and us – would be an understatement!

Over the last year, search has evolved at an incredible pace, largely driven by AI. As a result, ‘old-style SEO’ – whilst still able to deliver results – is, in itself, not as effective as it used to be - and our focus naturally turns to how we can perform better in Google’s AI results, and on platforms such as Chat GPT (which continues to take market share for search from Google). Performing well on a combination of ‘traditional SEO’ and AI is the ideal.

There has been a lot written about optimising for AI and, boy, can it be mind boggling!? We have new acronyms to contend with such as AEO (Answer Engine Optimisation) and GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation) which are specifically focussed on AI Search optimisation. As if SEO itself wasn’t complicated enough!

From intern to Technical Development Manager, Craig Landells has been a cornerstone of our team for over a decade!

Craig first joined us in 2010 for a Computer Science work placement and has been with us full-time since 2011. Now, as a key leader in our website development team, he's instrumental in keeping our digital presence running smoothly.

Craig is a natural problem-solver with a strong customer service ethic. He tackles everything from complex website coding glitches to challenging hosting and server issues – ensuring seamless operations for our clients.

Outside of work, Craig is a dedicated dad, and when he finds time, he loves to catch a gig or plan his next adventure.

Language is always changing - we know that. New words come in, old ones fade out, and most of the time we just roll with it.

But listening to conversations between my 23- and 21-year-olds these days? Honestly… I’m lost. 😅

It’s a whirlwind of slang, reworked meanings and words I’ve never heard before. I keep having to stop and ask, “What does that actually mean?” Please tell me it’s not just me?

And while we’re here… whatever happened to “the dog’s bollocks”? A beautifully emphatic way to describe something brilliant; a great car, a cracking film, something genuinely impressive. Questionable origins? Absolutely. Memorable? Definitely.

Nowadays everything amazing is just “sick”. Efficient, yes. But does it have the same character? I’m not convinced.

I turned 62 on 4th January.

Which officially puts me in “old fart” territory… and honestly? I’m good with that.

With age comes clarity. A real take me as I am mindset. No pressure to pretend, overpromise, overcharge, or tolerate unreasonable behaviour, just a focus on doing good work, being honest, and treating clients properly.
I still want Miltec Digital to grow, of course. But I want to do it with integrity, fair pricing, strong relationships, and great results.

These values have always been part of who I am, they’ve just got stronger over time. Good client relationships matter more than ever, and delivering great results matters even more because of them.

Will it make me wealthy? Probably not. But I’m happy, I sleep well at night, and at 62… I’ll take that all day.

We began our journey as a digital marketing agency back in October 1998, with our very first website project for the former Stableyard Restaurant. Not long after, we were introduced, via Business Link (remember them?), to one of our earliest SEO clients, ICS Industrial Services, specialists in spray nozzles. They joined us in 2005 and, despite the business changing ownership since then, they remain a valued client to this day.

Our long-standing relationships speak to how we work: we genuinely look after our customers and invest in their success. It’s one of the reasons many of our clients have stayed with us for well over five years.

While some agencies operate with the expectation that clients will move on after a year, that has never been our approach. We’re here for the long term, partnering with businesses, supporting their growth, and delivering results that stand the test of time.

This month’s profile is our company co-founder, co-owner and chief gobsh*te Bruce Gorniak. Seen here in a splendid photograph taken by Gavin J Priest, Bruce is at an age when he spends his time in total denial, thinking he is still twenty-four. Outside of work, Bruce has been married for thirty years, and commiserations to his wife for that.

He is really proud of his two sons, one of whom has just graduated university and one in his final year. And they are still happy to go on holiday with Mum and Dad…..as long as Mum and Dad also pay.

He believes that taking yourself and life, too seriously, is not ideal, and that great relationships with family and friends is the cornerstone to happiness.

As we look back on 2025, one highlight truly stands out. A long-standing client recently called to increase their monthly standing order for our SEO work, simply because the results were so strong and the enquiries were flowing in.
