We can’t ignore AI rankings either on Google or other AI search platforms such as Perplexity and ChatGPT.
Google AI results take up a chunk of ‘real estate’ on a results page (even when you don’t search in AI mode) and ChatGPT and Perplexity are eroding Google search traffic.
So, what do we need to do to our websites to give them a chance of being found in AI results?
The factor that arrears to making the biggest impact is creating website content that poses questions which are then directly answered. AI systems favour content that provides clear, concise answers to specific questions.
So, for an IT support company, for example instead of:
"Our IT support services are second to none"
Ask these questions, and provide appropriate direct answers.
💬 "What is managed IT support?"
💬 "How much does outsourced IT support cost in the UK?"
💬 "What are the benefits of outsourced IT support for SMEs?"
Content that contains this structure of questions and answers will have a positive impact on AI results.
Remember, though, other ‘regular’ SEO factors still need to be in place, such as a good backlink structure, if a site is to rank in AI results.
