Our "Horizons" exhibition is fast approaching. We hope to see many of our friends in the Crypt Gallery, Norwich - Aug 4 - 17.
Pictured is a cropped image of our long group pieces, Black and White with a splash of Orange.

Our members spent a day exploring and learning all about the Bronze Age people and discoveries at Flag Fen Archeological site yesterday . A little chilly but enjoyable and a good day was had by all . A very informative tour and time spent exploring the site for inspiration for future textile work .

One of our current members , Helen Durrant will be giving a talk at Waveney Stitch and Textiles group on the morning of Wednesday 18th March on the topic of….. “Portraits in Stitch.” This is a slide show presentation looking at stitched portraits and portraits of stitchers.
Waveney Stitch and Textile Group meet at Beccles Friends Meeting Hall every 3rd Wednesday of the month from 10am -12noon. All are welcome .
A lovely way for two East Anglian Textile groups to connect with each other and share ideas and friendship.

Our meeting this month saw us coming together to discuss our work in progress for our upcoming exhibition in August . Lovely to see our new member Nicola at her first proper meeting , with some inspiring ideas and creative flare. Some excellent pieces have already been created by our members with a variety of techniques and design styles.

Inspite of the grey weather Spring is on the horizon so we have been making some progress for our 2026 exhibition.... "HORIZONS".
A date for the diary; 4th-17th August in the Crypt, Norwich School. A wonderful art venue in the cathedral close.
A few tempters of WIP and other pieces seen at the February meeting.

We are really pleased to welcome a new TOPstitch-er...Nick Kimber joins us. She will be introduced to our followers via a gallery page on our website very soon.

….’Through the square window’…….. this was our first workshop of the year led by our member Helen Durrant . Very inspiring and made us look at line, shape ,positive and negative space of an image within a square. Patterns made with squares and who knew when you turn an image upside down to draw it,how challenging that could be……..A good way to start the creative juices flowing for the year ahead. On Wednesday we had our first meeting of 2026. We came together to discuss ideas and share our projects with each other. Also show some of our new work ready for our upcoming exhibition this summer .

On the last day of 2025, we reflect on the creativity, artwork and learning that has taken place. It’s been a year of colour, composition, learning new techniques , revisiting some old techniques, consolidating ideas and growing stronger as a group. Enjoying our time together and sharing friendship, ideas, laughter and our love of all things stitch and textiles. What a wonderful productive year it’s been. We are all looking forward to a new year with fresh projects ,exhibition’s and creative learning . Happy New Year and thank you to all our followers and supporters. Best wishes for the coming year.
