Summer holiday is over, and just like the kids are back at school, I am back to reality too! 👋🏼

Some of you may (or may have not!) noticed my hiatus from social media and events for the past 4 months. It was a deliberate break to take stock, recharge and give myself some headspace after intense couple of years of ‘lifeing’.

Feeling very lucky to have been able to take some time off to focus on our home, gardening, traveling and spending time with loved ones.

But holiday can’t go on forever, so I am back and available for work.

At this point, I am open to new opportunities, be it freelance, consulting, contract or, potentially, employment. It’s been lovely to look after a few existing clients throughout the summer, but it’s now time to open up my diary for the remainder of my calendar.

I will be updating my website over the next few days, but in the meantime time, if you know of any business that is looking to spruce up and streamline their marketing - from strategy and planning, to every day operational management such as social media marketing- send them my way!

P.S. It would have been more appropriate to share a photo taken today, but I have a giant cold sore and nobody needs to see that! 🫣 so here’s a snap from our lovely two-week holiday in Crete earlier in the summer.

Fully Booked Until January 2025!

For me, September is like January for most people—it’s my time for a fresh start.

September has always been one of my favourite times of the year. Ever since I was a little schoolgirl, it meant returning to school, which I absolutely loved.

[Yes, I’m a total nerd and proud of it! 🤓🫶]

This year, I’m kicking things off with a bang: I’ve secured a long-term contract with SGW and have onboarded two new freelance marketing clients (in addition to my current ones).

With so much going on, I’m at full capacity for ongoing marketing support and will definitely be spinning a few plates, but I’m excited about all of it!

We’ve also just moved into our new home, and I’m thrilled to finally have my own office again. It needs some serious renovation and redecoration—like the rest of the house—but I can’t wait to design a space where all the marketing magic will happen ✨

Now it’s time to put my head down for the next three months, and then—Christmas! I’m sure it’ll be here before we know it. 👀🎄

I am so glad I bought my green ribbon pin the other day...

Earlier, I got into a conversation with someone and they asked what it meant and why I was wearing it. Everyone knows the pink ribbon is to support cancer research. Well, the green one is to raise awareness and support mental health charities. This particular one is from Mental Health Foundation .

As someone who struggled with my mental health for as long as I can remember, it is encouraging to see the progress we are making as a society. Talking about mental health is less of a taboo subject. There is still a stigma attached and getting appropriate support can be challenging.

I hope that one day (soon) we can all talk about mental health without seeing it as being 'courageous'.

People talking about broken shoulder aren't seen as being brave, so why should talking about mental wellbeing be any different?

P.S. You might have already seen besides medication and other ’tools’ to help me cope with my personal mental health challenges, I turned to art. I paint abstract paintings and pour my emotions onto the canvas. It helps me purge and process my feelings in a way that (sometimes!) turns out looking quite good 😉

Catharsis - my first ever art exhibition is on 26th October at The Crypt Gallery.

I am amazed (and grateful!) for all the support thus far. The exhibition is now at over 50% capacity so if you want to come along have a gander and get yourself some original art, make sure you book your free ticket ( which includes a glass of bubbly on arrival!). All info over at

I don't have a desire to become a marketing agency owner. ❌ There, I said it.

I get asked this all the time, and I used to feel uncomfortable (and sometimes, judged) when telling people that I am happy as I am.

For some reason, you are not deemed to be doing well unless you are scaling a business to a fully-fledged agency. But that could not be further from the truth.

✦ The definition of success looks different for every individual ✦

For me, it is the:

➤ Flexibility to choose - the hours and days that I work
➤ Type of clients I choose to work with
➤ Type of work I choose to do
➤ HOW I work - my process & and my terms
➤ Fewer cooks in the kitchen - I get to make all decisions (thus making things happen much faster).
➤ Charging my worth.
➤ Relief of not having to be responsible for someone else's livelihood.
➤ Changing the direction if I want to.
➤ I love working with my clients on 1:1 basis because that allows me to give them my full attention and do my best work.

Of course, there are negatives too, such as unpredictability and dry spells, no holiday or sick pay, lack of ability to share the workload and a cap on how much you can earn. However, all of these can be negated.

For me, they are by far offset by the positives.

I probably won't become a millionaire 🤷‍♀️💰
And that is OK.
That is not my goal.

I am driven by purpose and impact, not the money.

(Disclaimer* I need the money to pay for the mortgage and food, so no, I don't work for free before you ask 👀😅)

Well, today was exciting, to say the least! 🙌🏼

Spent a lovely afternoon with my client Dr Amy-Jo Farrow and Rob Dodsworth getting some fantastic images for her coaching business. 📸

Rob and I go a way back.

In fact, over 10 years back.

He was just starting up as a photographer and I was running my first wedding business. He took the first-ever photos of me as a business owner. ☺️

Recently, I had some new photos taken by him for my own business and now, I recommend him to my clients knowing that they're in the capable hands of a pro.

A lot of business relationships stay 'professional', but some grow into friendships.

I am pleased that we're the latter 💜

My feature about burnout and recovery on today's Folk Features ☀️is a timely one.

Most of you would have seen todays news plastered with images of Jacinda Ardern who announced that she is stepping down from her position because she has 'nothing left in the tank' = she's burned out. ⚠️

My respect and admiration for her has grown tenfold 😘 (if that's even possible, because I think she's an incredible role model already!).

I too, know exactly what it feels like to run on empty. 🔋

You can do it for a little while if you absolutely must, but it is not a sustainable long-term strategy. ❌

Our body and mind needs rest to reset, recover and recharge to function properly.

Unfortunately, our brains cannot distinguish the difference between actual danger and stress caused by a missed deadline or an unmanageable to do list. 🧠👀

I won't go into the science of adrenal gland and how it works (do Google it, though!).

Here's an example for you → think of a car. 🚘

If you drive around getting on with life without stopping to refuel and maintain it appropriately, you will, eventually run out of petrol and the car will start breaking.

And then, when you actually NEED to rush somewhere - the car won't start.

Only once you've fixed what is broken and refuelled, will you be able to get on your way again.

Yes, you can replace a car or get spare parts etc., but it's not quite the same with our body - we don't have a spare 🤷‍♀️

👉🏼 ✨ My hope is that we can start having honest conversations about the toxic hustle culture and start celebrating and valuing the benefits of rest. Especially us, small business owners.

We need to prioritise rest, because it is actually productive!
