Is Google Maps showing your location as the middle of Germany?

There's a simple reason why! And it's easily fixed.

It's to do with a quirk of UK sovereign land, and the way Google classifies the UK area.

If you have your Service Area set to "UK" then this includes parts of Cyrpus, and therefore, the service area looks like the attached screenshot.

And it sticks the pin in the middle of this area if your address is hidden, which is Germany.

Sadly, the only real fix for this is to remove "UK" from your service area, and select it by county instead. But, rest assured this isn't due to any malicious competitor activity or anything!

Like a plumber with a leaky tap, I started working on my own website months ago in order to make a few things easier.

With the SEO tracking, you now don't need to save a really long link, you just get a button on your account page!

And I have a few more offerings, including maintenance and cloud backups (even for sites I'm not hosting).

Still not 100% done as I need to swap out some placeholder images, but it's finally live!

Few more services will be added next week, including a course on setting up a lead magnet automation, and a done-for-you option to have me just build the automation for you and screen record the process for you to follow in the future.

Now to crack on with a client site!

Mac users, if you're on 10.12.1 or older, you're going to start having huge issues with security certificates on websites, as Apple didn't bother including a root certificate until after this release.

If you're seeing this issue now, there are a couple of workarounds or fixes:

Older versions of Mac OS have hit a snag in the last month or so, because they’ve failed to update expired root certificates. Did you know you can use WooCommerce to schedule mini sessions? It's free and easy to do! It might not be as flexible as a fully fledged CRM or scheduling tool, and we'd never recommend using it to schedule absolutely everything. But if you're running a day of shoots with time slots to sell, then it works perfectly!
