COMMUNITY: Back-to-back donations raise hundreds for Kingsmill Hospital
Printing Creations is once again demonstrating its commitment to local causes following two back-to-back donations in a single week, raising hundreds of pounds within just two hours.
Stroke of Luck is a fundraising group in Pinxton and helps raise funds that are subsequently donated to the Stroke Unit at Kingsmill Hospital, Sutton-in-Ashfield - and since the groups launch in 2017, the team have gone on to raise more than £33,000 to help the specialist unit at the hospital.
Now, Printing Creations is stepping up its support for the cause as the team throw their weight behind the cause.
On Thursday 5 May, the team donated hundreds of items to the cause, which generated more than £250 in just a few hours.
Today (Sunday 8 May), Printing Creations wanted to further demonstrate their support for the cause by donating another van full of goods to the group.
Ashley, from Printing Creations, said: “We’re really pleased to be helping The Stroke of Luck community group who do an absolutely fantastic job in helping to raise funds for the Stroke Unit at Kingsmill Hospital.
“Nic and her team work tirelessly and in their own time to help generate much needed funds for the unit and the group means so much to her after her husband suffered from a stroke five years ago.
“I’m really pleased that we’re in a position to help such a worthy cause”.
Nicola Gill, who is in charge of the group explained how the donations will be beneficial to her fundraising group.
She said: “I’m really thankful to Printing Creations for their generosity and ongoing support.
“We managed to raise more than £250 on Thursday night alone from their donations and I know we’ll go on to raise hundreds more following their latest donations.”
The Stroke of Luck team seek donations in the form of unwanted items and then raise money by selling the products at discounted prices, but the team don’t usually receive such large donations of new stock.
Printing Creations is currently in the process of relocating and continues to play a key role in supporting local charities and fundraising groups through its ‘Giving Back’ initiative.
