Many businesses invest heavily in social media, Google Ads, SEO, and networking to drive more traffic to their website.

But if visitors leave within seconds because the experience is poor, that marketing investment is being wasted. User experience affects: Trust, Enquiries, Sales, Conversion rates and Customer confidence

This is exactly why we will be discussing website user experience at the next Marketing Club workshop on Tuesday 16 June in Nottingham.

UX expert Jack Follis will be joining us to share practical insight into the common website mistakes that cost businesses leads and customers every day.

The session will also include an interactive workshop in which attendees can review their own websites and identify opportunities for improvement.

Bring your laptop and be ready to work on your website while we are together. https://shamshadwalker.co.uk/marketing-club/event/28-the-marketing-club-nottingham-june-2026

Many small businesses focus heavily on driving more traffic to their website.
But what happens when people arrive on your website?

Your website could be getting visitors every day, yet still losing enquiries and sales because the experience is confusing, frustrating, or unclear. User experience (UX) isn’t just about design. It’s about how easy it is for people to understand what you do, trust your business, and take the next step.

Small improvements in user experience can often have a bigger commercial impact than spending more money on advertising. I have written a blog about why user experience matters so much for small businesses and marketers.

Have you ever left a website because it was too difficult to use? If so, read on. https://shamshadwalker.co.uk/blog/why-user-experience-matters-on-your-website

Thank you to everyone who attended the first Marketing Club session. It was a real pleasure working with such an engaged group and supporting you in deepening your understanding of LinkedIn and using it more effectively for your business.

The level of participation in the room did not go unnoticed. It was particularly encouraging to see so many of you actively refining your profiles during the session. Taking even a couple of focused hours to work on your marketing can create meaningful momentum and long-term impact.

Looking ahead, the next session will take place on Tuesday, 2 June at Rushcliffe Arena. I am pleased to share that Jack Follis will be joining us to provide practical insight into website user experience. As with the first session, this will be highly interactive, so please do bring your laptops to make the most of the time.

Bookings limited to 10 people, so if anyone is interested, please book early to avoid disappointment - https://shamshadwalker.co.uk/marketing-club/event/28-the-marketing-club-june-2026

Join us next Tuesday for this workshop - Master LinkedIn Visibility at Rushcliffe Arena on Tuesday 5 May (9.30 am - 11.30 am)

If your LinkedIn reach has dropped recently, this is not by chance, and more importantly, it is something you can fix.

There are a few places left for next Tuesday’s workshop, and as this is the first in the series, the Early Bird rate is still available.

This in-person session is designed for business owners who want to stay visible, relevant and consistent on LinkedIn, while also building meaningful connections with others in the local business community.

You will gain a clear understanding of what has changed in the LinkedIn algorithm, why your content may not be performing as it once did, and most importantly, what you can do about it.

This is a practical, working session, so bring your laptop, and we can spend some time on your LinkedIn profile and creating engaging content.

If LinkedIn is an important part of your marketing, this session will help you regain control of your results. These sessions are designed for up to 10 delegates, so book now to avoid disappointment. https://shamshadwalker.co.uk/marketing-club/event/27-the-marketing-club-may-2026

Before you break up for the Easter break, it is a good time to get something valuable in the diary.

Join us at the next Creative and Digital Network on Tuesday, 28 April at Brewhouse and Kitchen, Trent Bridge.

This event brings together businesses from across the creative and digital sector, from early-stage founders through to established leaders. It is designed to create a strong local community where knowledge is shared, ideas are exchanged, and meaningful collaborations begin.

If you are looking to strengthen your network, gain fresh perspectives, and position your business for sustainable growth, this is a great opportunity to do exactly that.

Take a moment to book your place before the break, so you have something productive lined up for when you return. https://shamshadwalker.co.uk/networking/event/16-the-creative-and-digital-network-april-2026

Thank you to everyone who attended The Creative and Digital Network this week. It was great to see some people who returned and others who attended for the first time. It was a great mix of different creative and digital businesses.

Thank you also to Emma Toes at Nelsons for delivering a clear and insightful introduction to intellectual property law.

Emma walked us through key areas including copyright, trade marks, registered designs and patents, helping to demystify what can often feel like a complex subject. The level of engagement during the Q&A was particularly encouraging and reinforced just how commercially important this area is for businesses operating in the creative and digital space.
