One of 's longest-established independent businesses has announced it will close its doors after 96 years of trading.

Waddington Menswear has confirmed it will close at the end of 2026, with owner Jane saying the decision has been made to enjoy a "well-deserved retirement."

In a message to customers, she said:

"It is with a heavy heart that after 96 years of trading in Worksop, it is time to close our doors at the end of 2026.

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our customers for your incredible loyalty, support and most of all, friendship. It has been a privilege for me, my family and my team to have known and served you all."

The business has also launched a closing down sale, with discounts of up to 50% available across the store.

Customers with existing orders, gift vouchers or any queries are being encouraged to contact the store directly.

The announcement marks the end of an era for Worksop, with Waddington having served generations of local residents since first opening almost a century ago.
