Four men charged over alleged kidnap in Ilkeston

Four men have been charged in connection with the alleged kidnap of a man in his 20s in Ilkeston.

The charges relate to an incident on Bridge Street on Thursday 30 July, when Derbyshire Police say the man was taken away against his will. The victim was later found safe.

Those charged are:

• Kien Rigley, 23, of Barlborough Road, Ilkeston
• Kainan Wilson, 21, of Market Street, Ironville
• Zabed Miah, 24, of Wilton Street, Ilkeston
• Lewis Birks-Iacovitti, 24, of Rossell Drive, Stapleford

All four have been charged with kidnap and assault occasioning actual bodily harm (ABH).

Wilson has also been charged with possession of a knife in a public place.

Miah also faces a separate charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm relating to an unrelated incident on 17 July.

The four men appeared before Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 1 August, where they were remanded into custody.

They are due to appear before Derby Crown Court on Friday 28 August.
