Back in 2020, I played at a wedding at a venue that I absolutely loved.
It was one of those places where everything felt thoughtful, especially the way the team looked after suppliers, and I remember finishing the day thinking that I would really like to be back there.
Not just once, but properly, as a regular or on their recommended list.
So the next day, I sent a simple email to say thank you for looking after me so well. It wasn’t a pitch or a follow up asking for more work, just a genuine message.
They replied, and I added them to my email newsletter.
Then, like it did for all of us, the pandemic hit and everything paused. Weddings stopped, events were cancelled, and that goal moved into the background.
But I didn’t forget it.
I kept sharing that wedding because it was still one of my favourites, and I continued sending my emails, keeping my business visible and consistent.
Then in 2025, five years after that original wedding, an enquiry landed in my inbox from that same venue.
No chasing, no follow ups, just staying visible over time.
This is exactly why email marketing is so important.
Not everyone will see your social media, and even when they do, it can easily be missed or forgotten.
But your inbox is different, you can show up consistently and stay in people’s minds.
If you’re relying purely on social media, you are missing an opportunity to build that longer term connection.
If you want support building a marketing approach that actually does that, my 1:1 sessions are open for April.
