🎆 Northampton’s Fireworks Spectacular is returning to the Racecourse – and there’s a spooky twist for 2026.

Northampton Town Council's free event on Sunday, November 1 will feature live music from the Soul Harmony Divas, a Halloween fire and pyro show from The Live Performers and a spectacular pyro-musical fireworks finale.

Local theatre company The Mystery Tours will also take visitors into Northamptonshire’s darker past with a performance exploring the witch trials of 1612 and 1705.

With funfair rides, food and drink, face painting and more on the programme, there’s plenty planned before the fireworks light up the sky at 6pm. 🎃🎇

✨ Northampton does not do Diwali quietly.

The town’s Diwali Festival of Lights returns to Market Square on Saturday 31 October for its 26th anniversary, bringing ten hours of food, cultural stalls, henna painting, saree dressing, arts, crafts and live entertainment.

The free celebration runs from 10am until 8pm, with the spectacular illuminated parade expected to set off at around 6pm. 🏮

Organised by Indian Hindu Welfare Organisation, led by chair Neelam Aggarwal-Singh, the festival is supported by Northampton Town Council and Community Services Committee chair Councillor Keith Holland-Delamere.

Also supporting the celebrations are West Northamptonshire Council, Northampton Town BID, University of Northampton, Stage Right Productions, Ait Worldwide Logistics, Inspiration FM 107.8 , Royal & Derngate Northampton and Northampton College.

Step back into Northampton in 1865… 🕰️

Northampton Guildhall will be brought to life this September with free historical re-enactments as part of Heritage Open Days.

Visitors will be able to witness a Victorian court case, see an 1865 council meeting recreated in the Council Chamber and explore some of the Guildhall’s most historic rooms.

Tours take place on Saturday, September 19, with places available on a first come, first served basis.

The Beach returns to Middleton Hall from 17 July to 31 August, complete with 102 tonnes of sand, deckchairs, Punch and Judy shows, fairground rides and even an indoor rollercoaster.

Entry is free, the rain cannot ruin it and there is no risk of a seagull stealing your chips. Probably.
