We are so excited to finally share one of our most custom projects to date: A completely bespoke Ford Motor Company Transit Luton van turned giant radio. The Fix Radio Street Team van.
Going back to late 2024, we were approached by the team at Fix Radio with the idea to convert a van into something bold and special. We liaised extensively with the Fix Radio team to meet expectations for functionality and design. The purpose of the van is to work alongside the client’s already existing Street Team, adding an extremely unique and engaging unit to promote the radio station. Not only did it need to serve a striking impression, it also required functional elements such as working speakers and LED screens.
Working with Gopromouk who undertook the build, we developed the project from concept into reality....
The design shows the central ‘radio’ panel, including 3D buttons and an LED screen resembling a radio display. The lit sign on the roof resembles a ‘handle’ of a site radio/toolbox. Then there are the ‘speaker’ sides, made from layers of mesh grills and speaker cones housed in a 3D moulded frame. The 3D shaped corners communicate the ruggedness of a construction site; we wanted to portray structural robustness with a heavy-duty feel.
The team began with ripping apart the box of the Luton van, before being remoulding and built for purpose. With every panel, button and detail being made from scratch, the timeline was extensive and at times nerve wracking.
This vehicle conversion is something we a very proud of and can confidently say is one of a kind. Many heads have been turned whilst in build at our workshop so it’s been a pleasure to see its reach on the roads all around the UK. From the appearance to the functionality, it’s a job well done and we can’t wait to see the great things the Fix Radio Street Team do with it!
You can now find the van touring the UK visiting various builders’ merchants such as B&Q, Wickes, Howdens, and more! This week they have been visiting different UK football grounds, including Wrexham AFC, Manchester City and Aston Villa FC
Thanks to everyone at Fix Radio, it’s been a pleasure 😎
