✅ Business Owners, be prepared as it can happen any time...

Apple has announced changes with iOS 14 that will affect how Facebook receives and process conversion events from tools such as the Facebook pixel.

Businesses that advertise mobile apps, as well as those that optimise, target and report on web conversion events from any of Facebook's business tools will be affected.

Specifically, Apple will begin to require that apps in the App Store that engage in what Apple defines as "tracking" to show a prompt to iOS 14 users, in accordance with their AppTrackingTransparency framework.

Apple's policy will prohibit certain data collection and sharing unless people opt in to tracking on iOS 14 devices via the prompt.

As more people opt out of tracking on iOS 14 devices, ads personalisation and performance reporting will be limited for both app and web conversion events.

In response to these changes, Facebook will also start processing pixel conversion events from iOS 14 devices using Aggregated Event Measurement. This will support your efforts to preserve user privacy and help you run effective campaigns.

Facebook will provide updates and additional resources to support businesses advertising on their platform as they become available.

Facebook’s new Business Suite has been both announced and rolled out, and many of you have likely discovered it already!

The Business Suite is a single dashboard for your linked Facebook and Instagram accounts that allows you to post, message, advertise, and view insights all in one place.

It’s designed to make the social media management process easier, at least for two platforms. (Only third-party tools like Hootsuite extend across non-Facebook social media platform management).

If you want to schedule posts that will go out to both your Facebook and Instagram followers at the same time, now you can.

The combined insights feature is also useful for big-picture views on your performance for the two platforms, especially in terms of comparing what works on each and what doesn’t.

Video outperforms all other content types on social media, and not only do people find videos more engaging and memorable than text and image, but social posts with video see, on average, 48% more views and generate significantly more shares than other types of content.

Basically, if you aren’t creating videos for social media, you need to be considering it.

Here are some tips to help you create more effective video content:

Without some kind of storyline or purpose, your video will fall flat - so before you even think about putting together your first Hollywood hit, ask yourself these questions:

✅ What is the goal of the video? Think about what you want viewers to do after they’ve watched your video. Maybe the goal is to raise awareness for a new product, or to encourage people to buy.

✅ What is the story of the video? Think about how you’ll translate that goal into a story, and what kind of narrative you’ll need to get people to that end goal.

✅ How will your audience relate to the video? Think about how you’ll help viewers connect to your story, brand, and product through the video.

✅ Am I providing value to the viewer? Think about how you’ll educate, entertain, or inform your viewers with your story, and consider what they’ll take away with them at the end of the video.

✅ How will I motivate the viewer to take action? This relates back to the purpose and goal of your video. Think about whether you’ll incorporate a call-to-action, or whether you’ll have instructions for signing up as part of the video.

✅ Avoid posting content that already exists on Facebook or elsewhere on the web (unless you created it).

Google+ is being phased out due to “low usage” and because it turned into something of a security liability for Google; the company has disclosed two significant data leaks that could have exposed information for tens of millions of Google+ users to outside developers.

Google has acknowledged that Google+ failed to meet the company’s expectations for user growth and mainstream pickup.

The company says that the process of completely deleting all personal Google+ accounts “will take a few months,” and you might still see some pages left standing (perhaps even your own) in the interim. But content deletion — including photos and videos in your Google+ album archive — starts now. I really hope you’ve moved everything over to Google Photos at this point.
