Monchü was approached to brand the Department of Sociology at the University of Oxford. The Department is consistently ranked amongst the best in the World.

The department had attempted this complex undertaking with others, who unfortunately hadn't been able to capture the abstract nature of the field and distil this into a meaningful design.

Sociology studies the structures and patterns in societies – including everything from criminal gangs to religious organisations, race, class, and gender to the makeup of the family unit or the state.

After much discussion we arrived at an analogous representation of an individual and social interaction – a murmuration of Starlings. We developed this concept with the faculty and were very happy with the outcome.

We look forward to working with other Universities and Colleges who wish to reflect the quality of their academics in their brand.

Since the reopening of retail and restaurants, we’ve received a few rebrand enquiries. We thought we’d briefly discuss rebranding, and what it can mean for your business!

If you’ve made the big decision to rebrand, this project has to start with a focus on strategy, a clear process, creative vision, and most importantly, a list of reasons why.

There are a few misconceptions around branding, the main one being that branding is simply a cool or fancy logo. We're here to tell you that it's so much more than that!

Whilst a strong logo is very important, it is still a small part of the overall branding or rebranding of your business. Because it is often the most recognisable sign/symbol used to communicate with your customers, the logo is often the first and only element many businesses focus on when rebranding.

You must consider that your brand is the sum of all of the touchpoints that come into contact with current or potential customers. These include the logo, uniform, stationery, marketing materials, websites, business premises, vehicles and even how you communicate with your customers.
