Payday lending giant CashEuroNet, which owns Quick Quid and Pounds To Pocket, is the most complained-about firm in the banking and credit category.

Complaints against the payday lender trebled to 4,692 in the first six months of the year, said the Financial Ombudsman Service.

The high-cost credit company knocked Barclays Bank off the top of the table, with collapsed lender Wonga third.

More than two-thirds of complaints were upheld against the payday lenders.

Some 72% of complaints were upheld against Wonga and 69% against Quick Quid. By comparison, only 28% of complaints against Barclays were upheld in the period January to July 2018.

Millions of commuters are due to face a 3.5% rise in rail fares from January.

The fare hike comes after a summer of chaos for many train customers, after a rail timetable overhaul saw scores of cancellations and delays.

The exact increase will be announced on Wednesday when official inflation figures for July are published.
The expected rise comes after consumer magazine Which? found that rail firms are the second least-trusted industry in the UK.

Economists are predicting that the Retail Prices Index measure of inflation - the number used by the Department for Transport to set rail fare increases - will increase by 3.5%.

Millions of "just about managing" families are no better off today than those in 2003, new research from the Resolution Foundation indicates.

The remarkable income stagnation for so many reveals that the economy has been failing to generate income for people over many years despite record levels of people in work.
In 2003, households on the lower half of incomes typically earnt £14,900.

In 2016/17 that figure had fallen to £14,800, the research shows.

A review from one of many clients we have helped this week.

Good afternoon Andrew

After dealing with Mark over the last few weeks, I feel it necessary to send this email to you. I would like if possible, for your company to consider some kind of formal praise/reward for Mark.

Mark was originally working on my case after a request I sent for help, after sometime on the phone, he advised me well and I then sorted what I could.

Unfortunately due to my I'll health i am not currently employed therefore was unable to qualify for trust deed. Mark ended his call by stating he would keep in contact!!!!! I wasn't expecting him too.

True to his word, a few weeks later, he called back a few days ago, to check in and see how I was getting on. During that conversation, Mark picked up upon a comment I had made about my husband. I asked why he didn't qualify for a trust deed a few years ago. Mark then said "right let's speak to Alan and see if I can help now, at least i would be able to help one of you"

Well, the following 24 hours were a whirlwind and a total relief that at last we could breath and stop stressing about how we were going to keep a roof over our heads.

Mark was compassionate, kind, reassuring and extremely positive at the end of the phone, a real tonic when I was feeling so low.

I have a chronic pain condition, fibromyalgia, which has completely changed my life over the last 6 months. Mark took the time to listen and understand me as a person, I truly believe that he is exceptional at his job and really cares about his clients . Well done Mark, you can tell he has experience and confidence in his knowledge, certainly put me at ease very quickly.

As an ex Manager myself, I appreciate excellent customer service, however with Mark, I feel it was outstanding and above and beyond.
