This popped up on and event organisers page today, and I have to say I’m pleased to see more organisers starting to take this seriously.
If you are an organiser and your vendors are caught selling non-compliant toys (typically 3D printed and crocheted items), it’s not just them that will get a fine. You will be liable too, for up to £2K.
Makers, if you are caught, then it’s £5K and confiscation of your stock. If you aren’t willing to test and mark then the reality is you shouldn’t be making and selling.
Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends, if it’s a toy then it must carry the UKCA or CE logo. It’s the only way to ensure what you are buying is safe for children, both physically and chemically.
Let’s be clear, this is not about “red tape” and “regulations”, it’s about children’s safety.
Please share far and wide, and let’s all put children’s safety before profit.
