Social Media is a brilliant tool for increasing exposure to your brand or business.

But… no two are the same and the right platform(s) will depend on your business and goals.

So, here’s a quick run-down of the most popular.

💙 Facebook - great for B2C businesses, local bricks and mortar companies, e-commerce and communities.
How to use it - create ‘shareable’ content (reach on reels is particularly good) and utilise local and specialised groups to reach your target audience.

🧡 Instagram - great for visual-centric brands, lifestyle and e-commerce.
How to use it - share your brands personality with imagery and video. Utilise clickable links to products/services through Instagram shop and stories.

*Meta advertising is a powerful and highly-targeted tool which can be used on Facebook, Instagram and accross their advertising network.

🔵 LinkedIn - great for B2B companies and professional service providers.
How to use it - create a clear and professional company page with a detailed, searchable description. Utilise your personal profile to build connections with past, current and potential clients and customers. Engage on their posts, use the messaging function and network.

💜 TikTok - great for e-commerce businesses, lifestyle, fashion and home (especially those targeting a younger demographic)
How to use it - companies with a ‘human’ side can share behind the scenes content, solopreneurs such as coaches and trainers can offer tips, product based companies can feature real reviews and collaborations. Don’t forget to use viral sounds, hashtags and meme’s.

There’s so much to think of in today’s digital world.

So many options available to businesses - which is great…

Until you run out of time, energy and money.

“To TikTok or not to TikTok?”

“Google Ads, I’ve heard they’re great, but are the for me and my business?”

“Do I ‘need’ a website when I’ve got a really good social following?”

These are all questions we are asked regularly.

And the easy answer?

Unfortunately there isn’t one. Because just as each business is unique, so is each digital strategy.

Let’s take one example…

Those reels and TikToks you see with engaging content designed to cement know, like, trust by building connection and a strong personal brand around one person? Are they for you and your business?

For some businesses, personal brand and human interaction is really important - they create communities, followers and a really engaged audience. So, if you’re a coach, artisan brand, solopreneur or someone looking to build a brand around their personal identity - TikTok and Instagram are your friend.

For other businesses, building identity around an individual is NOT the right strategy. They want to build a brand that conveys their company messaging and will often talk about what products and services they provide rather than the people behind them.
Rather than reels and people heavy content, larger businesses often adopt a strategy that embraces clever tech designed to create a top-notch customer experience and automated marketing and advertising that really works.

For other businesses they need a combination of the two that maximises their unique business attributes and often their amazing team of people.

Whatever your business, there will be a strategy that works for you!

The new John Lewis & Partners has just dropped and it’s an early hint of what the famous Christmas advert might hold.

The British institution has just released a 90-second film, The Window, as part of a three-part campaign.

The video shows a John Lewis shop window change over a century. Featuring the fashions of the roaring 1920s, the swinging 60s, and the 80s lycra fitness craze.

This is the first video created by Saatchi & Saatchi for the brand and the film is the first of an advertising campaign in three chapters — ending with the famous John Lewis Christmas advert.
