As 2024 comes to a close, we’re reflecting on what has been our busiest and most exciting year to date. We've had the privilege of working with incredible clients and partners, tackling some amazing projects, and working on our own rebrand to better showcase who we really are and what we stand for. It’s been an exciting journey, full of creativity and collaboration, and we’re so proud of how it’s come together.

We often think of Google as only an algorithm, but what most people don’t know is that Google improves our search results by getting feedback from REAL people.

They are known as ‘Search Quality Raters’ and they are fully independent third-party people based all over the world. Google trains them on their extensive quality guidelines and uses these Raters to understand things such as the language of websites and what is important within the content of the pages.

Google uses feedback from these people to evaluate changes and make the search results more useful to its users, but says that this doesn’t directly impact how search results are ranked.

Health and wellbeing business owners, did you know that Google categorises your website as potentially dangerous to its users online?

That’s right, Google places your website in the same category as those relating to banking, finance, legal, hospitals, and even the Government. They refer to this category as YMYL “Your Money or Your Life” which means the content on your site could potentially impact a person’s future happiness, health, financial stability, or safety.

This means Google has higher standards for your website and scrutinises your content more so than other sites, such as a recipe site for example. If you are struggling to drive new traffic to your site, it could mean that Google has penalised you for not adhering to its guidelines for YMYL websites without you even knowing.

Seriously cool new client - Airspace Developer, Gracewood Group!

Over the past 20 years, the Gracewood Group has designed and perfected a unique way of increasing residential space for Councils and Housing Authorities within an existing footprint. They achieve this through developing on top of existing buildings, known as airspace or rooftop development, without the need to decant residents occupying the floors below. They are currently working on a development of 142 units in Mile End which is the largest rooftop development in the UK.

Now a well-established expert in their field, the team at Gracewood realised a need to improve their online presence through both SEO and PPC to fend off competition in this rapidly growing sector.
