Awards season is in full swing in my in-house design role, with the Energy Efficiency Awards 2026 now underway ⚡🏆

I’ve been in this position since 2023, and every year I really enjoy bringing the awards to life. I design all of the creative for the event, so this time of year is always full on. From the awards programme and banners to place cards, name badges, certificates, presentation screens and everything in between — every piece needs to feel consistent and ready for print and the big night.

There are always tight deadlines and lots of moving parts, but I love seeing the whole event come together after working on every detail behind the scenes. It’s a lot of work, but it’s also the most rewarding project I get to be part of each year.

This is the kind of busy I love 🎨✨

As the year wraps up, I just want to say a big thank you to everyone who supported my freelance design work this year. Whether you booked a project, came back for another one, shared my work, sent a referral, or even just liked a post — it all mattered.

This year pushed me in the best way. I worked on new types of projects, met some great people, and learned a lot along the way. I’m really grateful for the trust, the creative freedom, and all the conversations behind the scenes.

Friday’s National Energy Efficiency Awards turned out to be a standout moment in my year. I had the opportunity to see all the print materials and presentation designs I created being used throughout the event — from the programmes and signage to the award presentation slides and on-screen graphics — all in front of an audience of more than 700 people. ⭐️

It was also a bit surreal to have the evening hosted by Tony Hadley and Mark Durden-Smith. Seeing my work up on the screens while they led the ceremony made the moment feel even more special.

There’s something incredibly fulfilling about watching a project move through each stage — from early concepts and visual direction to detailed layout work and final branding — and then experiencing it all come together seamlessly in a live setting. Walking into the venue and spotting pieces I’d designed being picked up, read, photographed and displayed was a genuine highlight.

Friday was a great reminder of why I’m so passionate about design: the power it has to elevate an event and help create a memorable experience for everyone involved.

Exciting to have been featured by UHI in their “Where are they now?” series. After graduating in 2019 with a BAH in Visual Communication and Design from UHI Perth, it’s amazing to look back at how far my journey has come.

Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with some incredible people and see my work displayed at events across the country – something I could only have dreamed of when I was studying!

I’m so thankful for the experiences, challenges, and opportunities that have shaped me into where I am today. Here’s to continuing to grow, create, and chase new design adventures 💛

“Since graduating from UHI in 2019, my career has been an exciting journey in design. I have enjoyed seeing my work at national conferences and award events, and I have also had the opportunity to collaborate with Craigrossie Printing, which has opened doors I had not imagined. The highlight of my career so far has been seeing my designs come to life at major events and conferences has been my biggest highlight. I recently had the pleasure of working with Sarah from Warm Homes Energy Group on an exciting van wrap design to support their company rebrand. From initial concept to final design, we collaborated closely to bring Sarah’s vision to life — and seeing the wrap out on the road is incredibly rewarding!

This vibrant, professional design highlights the company’s core services while making sure they stand out wherever they go. It’s been a great experience contributing to such a meaningful brand transformation.
