The most wonderful time of the year they say - well it was for Entouraj!

Owner Shah came to us because he wanted to open on Christmas day for the first time in 7 years (he previously stopped because it simple wasn’t viable) and was worried they might not fill enough tables to cover staffing the day.

Christmas Day can be hit and miss - some restaurants are very busy but others have struggled to fill tables depending on their location.

Entouraj only had a very small existing customer database so we knew we’d have to work hard to reach brand new people in the local area to make them aware they’d be opening that day.

Our team got to work and the rest as they say…is history! 45 bookings achieved in one day alone with the end result being not one, not two but three sold out sittings.

We were incredibly proud to help Fireaway Pizza launch their collab with the new Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Game at the end of last year.

Our software platform powered the entire campaign - when customers ordered a special Call of Duty menu item this triggered our system to send a unique code to the customer which they could redeem in the game for double XP items.

Big shout out to our creative team too who did some incredible artwork and video animations to support this campaign across socials and email and a big thank you to our software team for all their work behind the scenes making this campaign possible 👏

We've said it before and we'll say it again! 10,000 is the magic number ✨

Independent restaurants need 10,000 contacts on their database to ensure a steady stream of direct orders on their own website (commission free). Yes you'll have some loyal customers who will order weekly but you'll also have alot who order much less frequently.

If the average conversion from an email campaign is around 1% (if you're lucky maybe 2% or 3%) then you'll get roughly 100 orders directly off the back of an email to 10,000 people - and for most restaurants an 100 extra orders in a weekend isn't to be sniffed at.

So if you're not getting quite as many orders as you'd like each week, ask yourself; is your database really big enough? 🤔

Here’s another success story! Over the course of 3 months we managed to achieved a 200% increase in weekly sales for Heath Hayes Spice by week 12.

Before we started, sales on their own App4 website were £1637.25 and by week 12 we had achieved £3358.51 in sales.

This was achieved by spending £364.31 on Facebook and Instagram ads over a 3 month period (just £121.45 a month!) and a similar amount sending emails and whatsapp messages to potential customers.

Here’s what we did:

✅ We targeted everyone that lives in the postcode areas near to the takeaway and got customers to sign up for a ‘new customer offer’.
✅ We contacted old customers on their database who hadn’t ordered for a long time and sent them personalised offers - this lead to a massive uptake!
✅ We continually promoted the restaurant to all their customers.

Mission complete 📈! We’ve come to the end of our Just Leave challenge with App4 and we couldn’t be more pleased with the results.

Here’s the key figures - direct online sales were up for all 3 takeaway significantly compared to before we started:

Direct online sales the month before we started:

Heath Hayes Spice: £6641.29
Spice Lounge: £6084.12
Firaway Ystrad: £4453.23

Direct online sales 3 months into the campaign:

Heath Hayes Spice: £9,852.86
Spice Lounge: £11,067.23
Firaway Ystrad: £5428.47

The most exciting thing here is we’ve seen a large number of new customers already placing a second and even third order.

Here’s the number of new customers who have already placed a 2nd or even 3rd order so far:

Heath Hayes Spice: 29%
Spice Lounge: 50%
Fireaway Ystrad: 30%

The key to successfully growing direct orders long term is getting customers into the habit of ordering direct every time and we’ve worked incredibly hard to achieve this. It’s all good getting a customer to order direct once but if they don’t come back it was a pointless exercise - and we’ve proved it can be done.
