Here’s some tactics and skills you can deploy to win friends and influence people in your organisation.

What’s your biggest challenge when trying to influence leaders or stakeholders?

Our Head of Digital Matthew’s favourite project? A hugely successful website and app that developed his thinking and solidified his digital wizardry (full-stack developer) skills! ♥️

We worked with National Grid to deliver a transformation programme and internal communications campaign, creating the ‘Bring Energy To Life’ app and website. Matt said; “National Grid’s Bring Energy to Life campaign was a huge project. I was delighted to have led the digital development for it. The digital app and website wildly exceeded all expectations and quickly became the basis of a new company-wide mobile-first intranet. I learnt so much through the project”. ♥️

Successful organisations use customer insights and innovation, accept change, do the right thing… and, crucially, listen to their people.

Howard Krais and Mike Pounsford, Co-Authors of Leading The Listening Organisation, told our Barn to Boardroom 2024 delegates that workplaces are now entering an ‘age of listening’ where listening is paramount to business success.

We’re proud to have our Mental Health First Aider, James, at The Surgery, who helps us all take care of our mental health and wellbeing. ♥️

On this , James has shared some simple but powerful tips to keep your mental health in check:
Be active – you don’t need to run a marathon; just find something you enjoy doing. It could be speed knitting or playing the didgeridoo or both! 🎨

Connect with others – don’t WhatsApp them, call them, if they don’t pick up, go and see them (they’ll be shocked!) 📣

Be present – there’s lots to be said for living for today. Try not to worry or catastrophise about things you can’t control. 😊

Learn – spark up the grey matter by reading a book or learning to do something new (like speed knitting while playing the didgeridoo perhaps!) 📖

Give – easier said than done when we’re all so busy but helping someone out is a real feel-good endorphin releaser. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👧

Remember, it’s okay not to be okay, and there’s always support around you. Let’s keep the conversation going!
