Happy 85th birthday to Bournemouth Airport!

We've been proud to support Bournemouth Airport and Regional & City Airports with communications and social media for the past 12 years. During that time, it's been a pleasure to see the airport continue to grow and develop and we've been fortunate to work alongside a fantastic team.

Congratulations to everyone at Bournemouth Airport on this milestone and here's to the next exciting chapter.

After 8 days in the saddle and 1,138 miles (1,832 km) travelled, congratulations to our Director, John Casey, on completing this year’s Pan Celtic Ultra race in Ireland and North Wales.

It’s been brilliant following his journey over the past week, as well as that of our client, mikeredshaw.com / Physiotherapy - Pilates - Personal Training, who stormed home in six days.

A huge personal achievement for both, triumphing through the challenge of tackling Ireland’s dramatic and beautiful mountain terrain and rolling farmland amid heatwave temperatures.

Looking back at a film we produced for the Duchy of Cornwall to mark International Day of Forests, one thing still stands out.

Like most outdoor shoots, we'd had hoped for good weather. But with filming dates fixed and an editing deadline to meet, there wasn't the option to wait for sunshine.

Instead, we embraced the conditions. As we arrived at Wistman's Wood on Dartmoor, low cloud and mist hung over the ancient woodland. Far from being a setback, it helped capture the temperate rainforest exactly as it is, damp, atmospheric and shaped by its environment.

It's a good reminder that producing films on location isn't always about waiting for perfect conditions. Preparation is important, but so is being ready to adapt. Sometimes the weather changes, sometimes the light disappears, and sometimes the conditions give you something better than you had planned for.

In this case, the mist became part of the story and looking back, it's hard to imagine the film without it.

Over the years we've filmed at Exeter, Bournemouth and Norwich airports for Regional & City Airports, as well as capturing content for Cargo First at Bournemouth Airport.

Unlike an interview, there are no second takes. You can't ask an aircraft to taxi round again because you missed the shot.

That's why most of the work happens before filming begins – understanding the operation, planning camera positions, securing permissions and knowing where the action is most likely to happen.

And then, just as often, the plan changes. Aircraft arrive early. Priorities shift. You adapt and keep rolling.

The finished film might only use a few seconds of footage.

Getting those few seconds right is why clients trust us to deliver in busy, live operational environments.

One of the reasons drone footage has become such a valuable storytelling tool is simple - it changes perspective.

Last week, we were back behind the controls capturing aerial footage for one of our clients Newham Truro.

More and more, we're seeing clients asking for drone footage as part of their projects and in many cases, it is no longer an added extra - it is an integral part of how stories are told. We’re seeing it in the wider media too, with seemingly no news bulletin complete without a drone shot.

From the ground, you see individual details. From the air, it becomes clearer how everything connects – because a place, project or a community often makes much more sense when you step back and see the bigger picture. It’s the same approach we take with communications.

Ten years ago we’d have been pricing up a helicopter to get aerial shots – nowadays it seems easy… but that’s also a shortcut to putting your business at considerable risk if you’re not using knowledgeable and experienced operators, who are CAA qualified and properly insured.

This evening, we find out whether we won 'Best Use of Content' at the Chartered Institute of Public Relations Excellence Awards 2026.

We were shortlisted for our film 'Because I Cannot See' for client ISightCornwall the Cornish sight loss charity doing great work throughout the region and we were honoured to be a part of sharing their story and the stories of those they have helped.

We're keeping our fingers crossed!

These photographs took a few seconds to capture. The project it represents will take three months.

Earlier this week, we were on site in Nansledan installing a timelapse camera for our client the Duchy of Cornwall, to document construction of the steel frame for the new Market Street development, which will be the commercial heart of Nansledan.

Over the coming months, the camera will quietly record the changes taking place across the site, creating a visual record of a project that will evolve day by day.

It's a reminder that progress is rarely measured in single moments. Whether it's construction, filmmaking or communications, great results come through consistent effort over time.
