Had a customer last week wondering why their quotes kept going missing. This was the reason. Google had temporarily blocked their sends because the shared IP they were on had a bad reputation. They hadn't done anything wrong. They were just sat on the same outbound server as a load of free Gmail accounts, some of which were spammers.

That's the catch with free email for business. The sender reputation isn't yours, it belongs to whoever else is on the box.

A proper 365 tenant on your own domain fixes it. You get your own reputation, SPF, DKIM and DMARC set up properly, and an actual human to call when something does go sideways. Which is where we come in.

Just finished a good one. Client had all their company data sitting on a Server 2016 box in their office - single file share, single point of failure, only accessible on-site.

We set their M365 tenant up a while back and told them then: stick this lot on SharePoint. They've finally pulled the trigger and it's done.

Now their team can get at their files from anywhere, on whatever device, with MFA in the way of anyone who shouldn't be. The backup and redundancy story is in a different league too - Microsoft's data centres beat a server in a cupboard, funnily enough. Versioning, proper restore points, ransomware protection as standard.
