🌸 On Saturday afternoon my friend from L&L Cakes Home Bakery and I teamed up with a few of the incredible Staff at the NICU Ward of the Grange University Hospital to help bring Mother’s Day Celebrations to the Mum’s spending their special day on the ward.

We were thrilled to set up one of my signs and donate 24 cupcakes for the amazing new Mum’s spending their first Mother’s Day with their babies and also for the Staff working selflessly on their Mother’s Day to care for them🪧

This had a very personal note for me as my little boy Flynn spent two weeks on the NICU Ward when he was born premature at 34 weeks gestation. The sign itself signifies my own personal journey of Motherhood, with two bright pink butterflies representing Flynn and my daughter Grace. The four purple butterflies represent Flynn’s twin that we sadly lost at 11 weeks and our 3 other babies that we miscarried before Flynn’s pregnancy.

I saw first hand the dedication of the Staff working tirelessly on the NICU Ward to help care for my precious little one and many other poorly babies, as well as their families. They are truly amazing people and I am forever in awe of your hard work and so very grateful for everything you did for our little boy and family. 👏

Mum’s, I know this wasn’t the day you expected but I hope you had a wonderful Mother’s Day filled with love and your precious bundle of joy. 💐

Welcome to our page! Pen & Palette specialises in making signs for any occasion. From children’s birthday parties, to baby showers, weddings, anniversaries or a welcome sign for your business opening, we are here to meet your needs.

Our business idea first started when we were planning our daughter’s 4th birthday party. We had searched at length for a customisable welcome sign to be staged at the entrance to her party but what we found were designed more for weddings than anything else and were at a premium cost!

So we decided to give making our own a go! How hard could it be right? Safe to say we had a steep learning curve but we came away with something that our daughter and we were very pleased with. The sign made her day that extra bit special, adding that wow factor as guests came in and providing a perfect focal point for photos with the amazing Princess from Enchanted Birthdays that did a wonderful job of entertaining all of the little guests!

From here we were inspired to make other children’s parties just as magical and this is where our business concept was born. We wanted to make our signs competitively priced whilst delivering a perfect design to coordinate with your child’s party theme.

We have started off small like any business venture and made our birthday signs largely for family and friends. We started getting requests for signs for other events too and of course, loving a challenge, we accepted and branched out on the sizes of signs and event types we could cover.

And that brings us to date where we have decided to make ourselves public and make our presence known to you all online!

We are a growing business and look to expand our event signs into other areas of event stationary including table names, planners and much more.
