Countdown to Ramadan begins, a few days to go!
Letβs learn together and support our Muslim colleagues, friends and family π
1) During this period Muslims fast during daylight hours, from sunrise to sunset. Thatβs around 16 hours of fasting, so no food or drink β (even WATER?!?, yes)
2) Greetings my friend ππΎ Feel free to greet us by saying Happy Ramadan or Ramadan Mubarak (think of Moo and Barack Obama β mooπ-barak)
3) Iftar (means break fast) traditions around the world vary, but we love a good date or two. These are usually the first things eaten to open/break our fast.
4) Ramadan is a spiritual and physical experience for Muslims. We recognise how fortunate we are to have everything we have: food on our table at the end of the night, friends and family around us. It is also considered as a month of giving, so Muslims will engage in many charitable acts.
5) Ramadan this year will not be easy, especially for those who may have empty seats around their table, and for those who are not able to see their friends and family because of restrictions. Please check in with your loved ones, even over text, it can get lonely.
6) Ask away! We love talking about Ramadan. Join us at Iftar too, all you need is yummy food and connect with us virtually βΊοΈ
