I'm beyond happy for Helen and the team at Forum Jewellers to be recognised at national level for their Brand of the Month initiative, and very proud to have supported Helen in writing the winning submission.

It cannot be emphasised enough that for an independent jewellers with only one store the size of Forum's to be competing against major brands and supporting businesses is one heck of an achievement.

Helen was beyond excited and extremely proud to be presented with the award for Partnership Excellence at the Company of Master Jewellers ceremony on Sunday for our Brand of the Month initiative!

The judges were specifically looking for initiatives that 'demonstrated collaboration between retailer and supplier that drives mutual growth and success, and which also has positive commercial impact or enhanced customer value from the partnership’.

Brand of the Month, where we focus once a month on showcasing one of the fabulous brands we work with, often offering you a lovely discount, was considered to achieve these and more, and we fought off some major competition to win!

Of course, our huge thanks go to YOU, our loyal customers and followers for supporting Brand of the Month. That is our reward 😉

Published on 15th August, a fascinating insight into the buildings that tell the story of Christchurch!

It was a privilege to work again with Paul Rabbitts, 50 Buildings aficionado, on researching another local town, one I loved working in during the 1980s - it always had a real villagey feel then. I loved finding out more about the buildings I passed every day.

It's World Book Day! Whilst this a day primarily aimed at children to enjoy the life changing benefits of reading, I wanted to give a huge shout out to all past and present clients who have taken, or are taking, their first steps into writing.

Congratulations! You are amazing - it takes great courage and a lot of self belief (which gets severely challenged during the writing process) to get to the point where you have your work in print.

I am loving working with my newest client Eximia Bathrooms Ltd and today I got to experience what sets them apart from other bathroom design companies - Virtual Reality!

Founded by the amazing Laura & Sam, they have combined Laura's creativity and Sam's installation expertise to deliver a luxury bathroom design and supply with the highest level of customer service, which is a joy to work with.

The use of VR brings the design to life and allows the customer to see exactly what their bathroom would look like and they can change different aspects of it to suit their style.

As you will hear from the video, this was my first VR experience ever and I was completely bowled over by the visuals and capabilities of the system. I could even touch the taps to make the water run! I didn't realise Laura was videoing me so what you hear is completely genuine - and really obvious that I don't get out much😂

One of the many things that has impressed me about the way Laura & Sam work is that they only take on one project at a time, which means when Sam is installing a bathroom, he doesn't get called away to finish other jobs. Really impressive in this type of trade!

I'm very excited to announce the publication today of my second novel, What Price Freedom?

It has been over three years in the making and I am delighted that finally it is in print! If anyone is interested in American history, especially the War for Independence, I think you will enjoy it. But it is so much more than that:

Samuel Bass is fighting for his country, for himself, for forbidden love and for African Americans held in bo***ge.

Leaving his wife and children, Samuel joins General Washington's newly formed Continental Army. Fighting at the battle of Germantown, he is badly wounded. Lieutenant Colonel John Laurens, aide-de-camp to General Washington, rescues him from death and takes him to the home of a Quaker family in nearby Philadelphia to recover. Here he falls in love with the young woman slave assigned to care for him.

Thus begins a tumultuous and, at times, dangerous journey into inner conflict, divided loyalties and a personal mission to provide equal education for everyone, regardless of their colour.

In this sweeping narrative, the author skillfully gives an imaginative portrayal of one man’s life set against the background of American War for Independence but which, at the current time of global tension, addresses issues and conflicts that still resound today, such as the struggle for power and the destructive influence of widespread racial prejudice.
