🎉🎸 We're celebrating 70 years of Abbeyfield – and you're invited! 🎸🎉

The celebrations are nearly here! From Monday 6th July, each of our houses will be opening their doors for a week of memorable anniversary events.

Today we're highlighting Pennant House, Poole. We'd be delighted to see familiar faces and new ones too! Friday 10 July from 2.30pm. Please RSVP to help us manage numbers.

Stay safe and keep hydrated everyone!

We are feeling hot, hot, hot! ☀️

While we enjoy the sunshine, it is important to remember that anyone can become unwell when the weather is hot.

Here are some top tips to enjoy the weather safely:

• Keep your home cool by closing windows and curtains in rooms that face the sun.
• Try to avoid direct sunlight, especially between 11am and 3pm when UV levels are highest. If you do go outside, cover up with suitable clothing, such as an appropriate hat and sunglasses, and seek shade and apply sunscreen regularly.
• If you are going to do a physical activity (for example, exercising or walking the dog), plan to do these during times of the day when it is cooler, such as the morning or evening.
• Know the symptoms of heat exhaustion and heatstroke and what to do if you or someone else has them.

Enjoy a free afternoon of delicious burgers and sausages, great music, and plenty of fun as we celebrate this special milestone together and remember the fabulous 50s. Bring your family, friends and neighbours – everyone is welcome!
