We hope the ENJOY Portishead 'When I Grow Up' feature will inspire young and not so young people to follow their dreams and work hard to achieve their goals. As a football mad Portishead youngster, Ben Fisher was often told it was unrealistic to think he could make a good living just writing about football. Now some 12 years on Ben is doing exactly that, working as a football journalist for the Guardian newspaper. If you haven't picked your copy of ENJOY Portishead up yet, you can read Ben's story online using the link below - you'll find it on pages 8 and 9 of the first issue.

Huge thanks to all at Visit Portishead for working closely with us and hosting our magazine online and also hosting our podcast!
Visit Portishead is a community interest company started and funded by a small group of local people. Its aim is to promote Portishead as the go-to destination for tourism and business, to encourage visitors, once here, to use the amenities we have, and to encourage people who live here to use what they have on their doorstep.
Visit Portishead, now rebranded Visit your Portishead, is a website full of things to do and places to visit in our town, it offers everything from what’s on this weekend to details about the scores of local community groups and organisations. You will find information about the shops, walks, amenities, services for business, where to eat and drink and so much more. It’s also where you will find our new magazine available to read online and hear the latest podcast from Downsy, all about Portishead.
It’s free and it’s easy to upload your events to the ‘what’s on calendar’ or add your community group to the ‘directory of local clubs and organisations’. Just simply visit the relevant page and click where indicated to add your event or community group. This website is well worth exploring.
