It's been great to to add new functionality to my client's website to enable her to reach out to more young people.
New Live Chat launch!
When I decided to go private, I always vouched to keep a foot in the public sector. I left local authorities due to growing frustrations about how corporate services were becoming, with too many young people being numbers on data performance programs, with no focus on what we were there to do: help.
I managed to stay connected with public sector by accepting contracts with schools located in deprived areas, but what about all those young people who do not attend these specific schools?
Today I am very pleased to be launching a live chat on my website. This is free to access by children, young people, parents, carers, relatives and professionals.
What Mosaics-Of-Life therapies is seeking to offer is a place to come to at times when our usual support networks are not available. This is most likely to be at weekends and during school holidays. We will follow the Wiltshire and Swindon academic calendars for this but the chat is open to anyone in the UK. Anyone who is home educated or not in education can still leave us a message outside of these times and we will contact them to offer support.
Young people can come and talk through anything that is on their mind. It may be that they are unsure as to what therapy is about or what may be expected of them. I can signpost to any specialised helplines or services. We can organise a follow-up video call to perhaps break down barriers to accessing therapeutic support. We can discuss strategies on coping with specific difficulties. We appreciate that, for some children, school holidays are a tough time, when routine is different and they have no contact with those teachers they feel safe with.
Parents and carers can ask advice on parenting, family dynamics or share concerns they may have about a child or young personβs mental health. We can talk through strategies, specialised services and discuss what type of therapy may be helpful. We can advice on next steps relating to Early Help Records or EHCPs.
Professionals can also raise concerns about a child or young person. We can talk through specific behaviours in children which seem to trigger particular emotions in them as workers. We can discuss difficulties with colleagues, and how the system within the workplace may be a reflection of something that is going on for the families they are working with.
The Live chat will be on from Friday evenings to Sunday evenings every weekend. Times throughout this may vary and I will aim to make this as accessible as possible. There will always be a message popping up, letting the person know at what specific time the chat will come back online if I am away when they connect.
I will follow the same system for school holidays, including Christmas. I will share more details about the Christmas arrangements in the coming weeks.
I hope this Live chat will be of use to as many people out there as possible.

And a huge thank you to NCJ Website Design for setting this up for me! It allowed me to continue doing my direct work with children and families while the live chat was being put together by Nicola behind the scenesπ
