It was nice to get an email from Paul who I had worked with before at a different charity asking if I could help at their new job.

I created a new report as well as some infographics to show the important data they had collected. Counter Balance have quite a tight style guide but I love the challenge of getting the most from that, sometimes less is more and their brand sets them apart because of that!

We consume more than is good for us!

Designed this really enciteful report for the WWF that looks at what we produce compared to the amount we consume. So relevant in todays environment at the moment.

I recently designed the School Streets report, which was prepared by BYCS in collaboration with the Clean Cities Campaign. School Streets are roads in front of schools closed to traffic, leading to safer roads and cleaner air.

My week has been a little different 👀 This week, I was on the hockey pitch playing for wales o40’s hockey team in the home nation 🏑

We won against Scotland on day 1
Wales 3 Scotland 2

We lost to Ireland on the second day
Wales 0 Ireland 3

Unfortunately, we lost to England today
Wales 1 England 5

Remember to do your desk stretches…demonstrated by Willow!

I hope everyone managed to have some time off over the Christmas break.

It’s important to look after ourselves again this year and even if that’s a little bit of movement throughout the day, especially for us that work at a desk all day.

I used to be terrible and just sit at my desk for hours but I do get up and move about throughout the day now. Even if you can do some desk stretches (superbly demonstrated by Willow) it will help in the long run and will save on those physio bills!

Surely we can all spare a couple of minutes each hour for our health!

I love designing in both print and digital. I think they both have their place depending on the audience and the message.

Like everyone I’m now more aware of environmental impacts. I’m privileged to work with clients like wwf.eu who help me understand plastic impact in oceans and deforestation issues. eeb.org and their recent studies on batteries and heating appliances. Transportenvirnment.org and the research into cleaner cities to name a few. Designing is also a massive education lesson for me.

All this learning has made me more conscious of the finishing process of printing. Though I’m glad to say that print has come on massively and printers are finding more eco-friendly ways to print and finish which I can offer to clients.

I’m looking forward to future developments in this area but also my education as I keep on designing.
