Fuelled by coffee and flexibility this morning ☕

Picked up my takeaway from Costa Coffee and the barista had written “Have a lovely day” on the cup. A small gesture, big smile 😊

One of the things I love about being a freelance social media manager is the freedom to work from anywhere. Today’s office? A local garage while the car gets four new tyres and a few other bits sorted. Laptop open, coffee in hand, and the morning’s work underway.

📚 A Morning of Networking, Inspiration & Community 🌟

Yesterday’s UNO Dean & Wye networking meeting at the lovely Severn & Wye Smokery in Chaxhill was one that really stayed with us.

We heard from our charity member Nicky from Great Oaks Hospice, who brought along her colleague Michelle, a Community Support Specialist. They shared the incredible work the hospice does supporting people across the Forest of Dean, not only caring for those on difficult journeys, but also providing vital support to their families. It was incredibly moving, and a powerful reminder of the difference this wonderful charity makes in our community ❤️

As it was also World Book Day, I asked everyone to bring along a favourite book, and we had a great mix! 📖

We saw everything from Wings by Terry Pratchett (which inspired Toby’s love of writing) and The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame, to The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins.

I brought along my childhood favourite The Magic of the Faraway Tree by Enid Blyton (very excited for the film later this month!) and the marketing book I’m currently reading, Human First Marketing by Phil Treagus-Evans.

A brilliant morning of community, conversation and connection — exactly what networking should be! 🌟

The internet is an amazing place to connect, learn, shop, share, and scroll… but staying safe online is just as important as having fun, especially on social media!

Here are a few simple ways to keep your accounts (and yourself!) safe 👇

🔐 Use strong, unique passwords
Mix letters, numbers, and symbols, and avoid using the same password everywhere.

📱 Turn on two-factor authentication (2FA)
It’s one of the easiest and most effective ways to protect your accounts.

👀 Think before you share
Personal details like location, phone numbers, or daily routines can be used by the wrong people.

🚫 Watch out for scams and suspicious links
If it feels off, it probably is. Don’t click links or download files from unknown sources.

💬 Manage your privacy settings
Take a few minutes to check who can see, tag, and message you on your social platforms.

❤️ Be kind and report harmful behaviour
A safer internet is everyone’s responsibility.

The Knight & Day socials are officially taking a little festive snooze! 😴✨
