Branded merch doesn't stop at fabric and print... sometimes it can be eaten too!! 🧁

This week, one of our bakery partners is putting the finishing touches on a very exciting project: around 1,000 branded cupcakes, all boxed up and heading out to 83 addresses across the country.

This project is commemorating the The Camping and Caravanning Club as it celebrates its 125th anniversary this year, and we're excited to help mark the milestone with something a little different from the usual kit and workwear.

125 years is no small achievement. It takes real staying power, community, and commitment to reach a milestone like that, so members can rest assured that you're in very safe hands.

Sustainability isn't only about fabric, sourcing and products. It's about people too.

At TeamTogs, we're a husband-and-wife-owned and driven business, each bringing different strengths, perspectives and ways of working. That diversity of thought runs through our wider team as well.

Around 70% of our team are women across our studio, sales, production, finance and operations functions. That's not by design or target, it's simply how our team has evolved over time. We work with a female-led HR consultancy, and neurodiversity is very much part of our business too. But what really shapes our culture isn't demographics, it's a mix of different personalities, different perspectives and different strengths, all equally valued.

We don't believe there's a perfect personality type or a perfect culture, because what mix of people ever is 'perfect'?

What matters is respect, recognising individual strengths, valuing different ways of thinking, and giving everyone an equal opportunity to contribute.

We're not perfect, and we're always learning, but we believe building a business that respects people's time, wellbeing and working styles is just as important as the products we deliver.

What happens to your old branded kit once it's time for a refresh? ♻️

Too often, the answer is a skip, but we think there's a much better option.

For years, TeamTogs has worked alongside GOODSFORGOODuk, a charity that takes unwanted and surplus goods and gets them to the people who need them, rather than letting them sit in storage or head to landfill.

We really believe in what they do, and over the years we have built a real partnership with them. Our team gets involved on a personal level, and we make a point of turning up to their events - we are already looking forward to taking a table at their legendary annual quiz!

When a client is ready to retire an old uniform or a warehouse of surplus stock, introducing them to Goods for Good is simply part of how we work, and it's built into our pitches. Right now, a batch of repurposed apparel is on its way to them.

Merch is a relationship builder, not a procurement exercise. That applies just as much to what happens at the end of a garment's life as it does at the start.

TeamTogs has been reconfirmed for The BPMA - British Promotional Merchandise Association StepForward Pledge for 2026 🌿

We're pleased to share that TeamTogs has once again met the criteria for the BPMA StepForward Pledge, an industry-wide commitment covering 12 areas across Products, People and Planet.

It's an annual check-in on the things we already believe in: sourcing responsibly, reducing waste, treating people fairly, and being honest about what we can (and can't yet) measure.

A few highlights from this year's review:

Our consultative sourcing model means every product is chosen to brief, not pulled off a shelf, so sustainability credentials, packaging and product longevity are considered on every single project.

We run on 100% renewable electricity and a carbon-neutral gas tariff, and we've moved to a delivery partner with an ISO 14001-certified environmental management system.

We're a female-owned business with a workforce that's around 85% female, and flexibility and inclusion are built into how we work, not bolted on.

We continue to support Goods For Good and Gratitude, giving unwanted clothing and merchandise a second life instead of a trip to landfill.

Great culture deserves great kit, and we think that responsibility runs all the way through the supply chain that gets it there. Thank you to the BPMA for the ongoing framework to keep us honest and keep us improving.

The most sustainable merch is the kind that nobody throws away 🌱

There's a quiet kind of sustainability that doesn't get talked about enough: restraint. Not the loudest eco-label, not the biggest tick box, just a genuinely well-made item that someone chooses to wear or continue to use again and again.

That's the bit that matters! If a hoodie, a jumper, or a tote gets kept and loved rather than binned after one wear, that's the most sustainable outcome there is, no certification required.

Which is why subtle branding matters more than people think. Overdo the logo, and it looks like a uniform that people will only use once. Get it right, keep it understated, choose the fabric with care, and it becomes something people actually want to wear. Something that makes them feel good.

And that's the real test. If the person wearing it feels great in it, that's not just good branding; it's good for the planet too. Fewer items binned, fewer wardrobes needing a rethink, more of your brand out in the world doing the job properly.

Getting ready for September 📚✏️

We're starting to see the first back-to-school enquiries land in our inbox, which means schools are already thinking about the new term.

Here's what's coming through: pencil cases for the first day back, notebooks and exercise books to top up what's left from last year, PE bibs, sports day medals, kit for after-school clubs. Small things, but they matter, both to the people ordering them and the kids using them.
