They say 13 is unlucky. We respectfully disagree 🍀
13 years ago, Dean joined the Fuel team and we’ve been better for it ever since. To mark the milestone, we sat him down for four quick-fire questions (he’s a busy man!). Get to know our COO a little better.
Q. What’s the most memorable project you’ve been part of here?
A. IGEL Disrupt in Munich. Standing at the back of the room watching the opening keynote kick off with a live rock band and pyrotechnics at 9:30 in the morning...that was a proud moment. The team pulled off something genuinely special.
Q. If you could give advice to your day one self, what would it be?
A. Don’t hire smart people just to tell them what to do. Guide them, back them, get out of their way. And drop the idea that you’re supposed to have all the answers. Everyone here is still figuring it out, me included. The more you put in, the more you get back.
Q. What’s the one thing you’d never compromise on, no matter what?
A. My family. Work will always be busy, and at times stressful. But the people at home deserve the best version of you, not whatever’s left at the end of the day.
Q. If the agency was a person, who would it be?
A. Tom Hanks. Trusted, dependable, a bit of fun, and he’s got incredible range. Comedy, drama, serious stuff, absurd stuff. He shows up differently depending on what the project needs. That’s us!
Here’s to another 13 years 👏
