Yes, for the eagle eyed - we will even find uses for old laptop that run Windows XP. This particular device will be switched to a more up to date lite Linux distribution to enable web browsing functions on with a good screen. Enough to complete "English as a second language" college course to help many people escaping from bad situations.

Planning ahead - that part of the tech industry that can be forgotten as so many things are reactive.

We are planning.. planning to cope with the donation devices expected to arrive in January as new tech is commonly purchased in December by a man in a red suit, a white beard and few reindeer 🎁

We restore, clean all data with Government standard data wipe, upgrade from the box of spares and then donate unwanted laptops. We can complete the same on desktop computers, wipe, restore & upgrade - generally these are then sold to fund the aforementioned parts in the spares box as laptops are generally a more useful solution for the donation destinations.

Do you have a laptop in a drawer that has been found while getting out the Christmas decorations? Could you put a smile on the face of a family or person in need with your donation. Get in touch, save your device from the landfil and help others.

Some recent customer feedback for your pleasure, and ours - it is so nice to know when customers are happy.

1. An machine starting to go slow, running off a 1TB hard drive. A new Crucial SSD NVMe drive, a clean installation of windows11 and copy all files into the new profile.
"The PC speed is amazing, thanks!"

2. A 16 year old machine, still running and in daily office use thanks to being a bit Triggers Broom. To be retired after failed to boot for the final time (suspect the RAM). User hadn't quite setup the backups, but drive taken out, files recovered and then thanks to Office365 they magically appeared on the new machine!
"Definitely magic 😂 thank you!"

All this alongside several machines for secure data erase and recycling in the best way, donating to those in need.

If you have old machines, you didn't want to throw away as you've seen articles about data - please get in touch. We will wipe with at least a IS5 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infosec_Standard_5) data clean prior to a clean installation of a suitable operating system before donating to refugees in Reading.

We have been helping for many years now in the Reading area and beyond.
The time has come to enable our own page alongside some of our clients!
We've had many years of personal recommendations and customers simply asking where to leave reviews. Opening the page will hopefully help several people who seem to refer us many times share contact details successfully and review what we do.

We may post a few jobs, and promote share social media posts of the charities we support. So no promises on the page activity!
