Meet Reuven! One of our interns who took part in a 10-week project with us for No5 Young People, contributing to create a mental health signposting website for young people in our community.

One of the core drivers of the project was to champion the voices of young people, from the conception to delivery of the product. Check out Reuven’s experience working with Red Balloon on this volunteer website build, which is inspired, designed, and developed by young people of Reading.

Our client SPEEDECK are a specialist design and build foundations company. Experts when working in difficult ground conditions, SPEEDECK design and engineer optimised foundation schemes for housing, care homes and commercial structures across the south of England.

We worked closely with SPEEDECK to re-imagine their website and promote their design and engineering methodology and innovations. This meant a full-scale re-design, SEO, content and social media campaigns where we are producing Case Studies and Articles for their website on a regular basis.

The coral reef is a vital indicator of the health of our planet and it is dying! We have already 14% of our world's Coral Reefs, which is more than the coral living in Australia. We need to act now!

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) states that 70 - 90% of warm water coral reefs that exist today will have vanished if the global temperature reaches 1.5C. Up to 50% of all marine animal life has gone extinct since the 1980s!

At Red Balloon, more and more often we’re discussing ways to reduce our carbon footprint. Environment and Sustainability is a important topic in our every day lives as it is crucial for safeguarding our planet's health and ensuring a thriving future for all living things.

We made a video to capture how we’re taking action through simple yet impactful measures:

A couple of weeks ago, our team took a break from our usual workday and headed to a local park in Caversham for some litter-picking action! 🌳💚

We filled several bags in just over two hours, leaving the entire park spotless and plastic-free! A rewarding day and a satisfying, sunny afternoon☀️

Today we reflect on our interns' 10-week journey, working together tirelessly to create No5 Young People’s ‘Looking for Direction’ signposting site. They worked hard to bring something good to our community, inspiring the growth of skills and fresh perspectives while being a source of valuable learning for everyone.

By creating a site that can help young people identify their local mental health services, we have opened up the availability of a healthier community. We look forward to continuing our relationship with such a wonderful charity.
