Award nomination incoming 🥳

Delighted to announce that our project Whitley Carnival has been nominated for not one, but TWO awards at the Pride of Reading Awards 🏆

It’s lovely to see such a special community event recognised in this way 🤩

Whitley Carnival has sparked a cultural renaissance in Reading, said its nominator for the Cultural Contribution award sponsored by M&G Real Estate .

And that’s a wrap! Despite crazy timescales and even crazier weather we pulled off an amazing Whitley Carnival 🐟⛰️🌍

Thank you to everyone who took part and showed up, from our tiny but amazingly talented team to all the volunteers, schools and arts organisations who contribute. See you next year!

Anyone up for a carnival? 🥳

Super excited that the Whitley Carnival is back for 2025! Following a successful Arts Council bid I’ll be leading the team along with Danielle Corbishley to create a spectacular parade on Sunday 20th July, involving Whitley schools, community groups and Reading’s best arts organisations.

Here’s how the last one went: https://youtu.be/xkvR4v1NkE4?feature=shared

(If you’re free on the day and fancy volunteering as a steward please PM me)

The inaugural Whitley Carnival took place on Sat 11th June bringing together thousands of people to walk through the streets of Whitley. This project success...

Apologies for the radio silence - I've been busy! Which is really lovely - I've appreciated all the incredible feedback on my new business, and have had the privilege working with some fabulous clients.

Marvellous March highlights included:

✅ Collaborating with the fabulous Lorraine Briffitt at Connect Reading on strategy development and SO much more...
✅ Crafting four fundraising bids for Reading Community Learning Centre🤞
✅ Hosting an insightful session on pricing your work presented by the amazing Rachel Eden
✅ Partnering with Beautiful Creatures Theatre to apply to the Arts Council for the Whitley Carnival’s next chapter
✅ Organising a brilliant networking evening at Milk Reading with creative cocktails courtesy of William Grant & Sons Uk
✅ Running a mini bid process for PepsiCo’s super generous iPad offer - benefitting nine local schools and charities

The month wasn’t just about work though; I loved giving back through:

✨ Volunteering with Annie Willmott and Camp Mohawk marshalling Reading Half Marathon and Green Park Challenge
✨ Supporting the enchanting drama production at Leighton Park School alongside Sapna Odlin

To round it all off a soul-restoring walk to Blue Tin Produce with the lovely Caroline Gratrix and WalkWorks was the icing on the cake!

Here's hoping amazing April is just as much fun - it's looking promising already☀️🍀 🤩
