🌱 Free Business & Social Enterprise Programme for Rhyl Residents – Starting January 2026

Hi everyone 👋

There’s been a lot of discussion in local groups recently about the lack of variety of businesses opening in Rhyl — and I completely understand the frustration. The town has so much potential, yet we keep seeing the same types of ventures coming and going.

So rather than just joining the debate, I’d like to do something practical to help and looking to work with local community groups.

I’m putting together a free business and social enterprise programme for people in Rhyl who’d love to start something of their own — whether that’s a small business, creative project, or community venture that adds something new and positive to the town.

The programme will include:
• Free training and coaching sessions to help you shape and test your idea
• Step-by-step guidance on planning, funding, and launching your business
• Ongoing support to help you stay on track and actually get started

I’m currently looking for a local venue, and the plan is to begin the sessions in January.

My name’s Simon Abbott — I’m a business coach and founder of The Coaching Couch and Dear Solopreneur, where I work with entrepreneurs and small business owners across the UK to help them build businesses that last.

I live locally and want to do something positive to help Rhyl grow, not just talk about what’s missing.

Out of everything I’ve done on my business, this is the thing Im most proud of that as the ability to positively influence the lives of business owners and would be business owners. Small businesses have been struggling since the pandemic began. However, not everything is bleak.

According to a report, "71% of UK businesses say they are more profitable today than they were before the pandemic." And that's not all. About "90% of UK businesses say they are optimistic about their business and growth during 2022/ 2023."
