A little insight into what happens here at Ellison Printing...

Not all of our customers need help with design. Some send us artwork that their in-house team has created, some send artwork they've created themselves whilst others ask us to design it for them using our in-house studio.

Whichever route they choose, we like to give everything a quick glance before it goes to print as when you've read the same thing over and over again, it's easy to miss the obvious. Sometimes all it takes is a fresh pair of eyes looking over it.

Thankfully, most things are spotted before printing. Although we do remember a customer a number of years ago who, unbeknown to us, had changed their business name. Numerous staff members checked the proof numerous times, but it wasn't until after we had delivered the order that they realised they hadn't updated the name.

We have a bit of a love-hate relationship with proofreading. The brain is clever… it often sees what it expects to see rather than what’s actually there.

This morning Jane had the pleasure of attending the Blackburn meeting of Pink Link Ladies networking. Our regular group is Bolton with member host A Little Light Shine Coaching, but it’s always good to get out and meet members from other areas too.

There are no photos from the morning so we're grabbing your attention with this one instead. Quite fitting really as this swatch shows the kind of variety we work with every day, and in a roundabout way, reflects the diversity of people you meet through networking too.

And yes… a completely unashamed nod to one of the beautiful premium paper ranges we use! 😂💪

Recently we had the pleasure of producing some bespoke labels for a very special celebration and we love how they're looking!

Haslingden High School & Sixth Form is marking an incredible 50 years and these custom beer can labels are just one of many ways they are bringing their celebrations to life.

Paired with locally brewed beer from Moorhouse's Brewery this is an excellent example of how print can add personality, storytelling and impact to any occasion.

From labels and packaging to marketing materials and event print, we’re proud to help our customers bring ideas like this to life, whatever the brief.
