My favourite thing about my Etsy shop 👀

It is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. And I am very much not 😆

My listings are just out there constantly, waiting for someone to discover them 😌

A couple of years ago, I opened an Etsy shop purely to earn a bit of extra money. I never imagined it would end with me co-founding a company.

There was no business plan and no special skill behind it. I put some posters up, watched what sold, and kept adding to the catalogue. The sales came slowly at first, then they didn’t, and that first shop passed £20k in revenue within six months.

That result made the next step obvious. If it worked once, it could work again, so I opened two more shops in totally different niches. Today all three bring in around £5k a month between them, and they run quietly in the background.

The biggest change wasn’t the money, it was the freedom. I can work from anywhere, which means I’ve spent a lot of the last couple of years travelling instead of being tied to a desk.

Most people don’t fail at print on demand. They never start, because of a story they’ve told themselves.

I get it. When I opened my first Etsy poster shop, I had every reason to wait. I wasn’t an artist, I wasn’t sure I had the time, and I assumed I’d need to understand the whole business before I could even begin.

What I found is that almost every one of those worries falls apart once you actually get going. You don’t need to be creative, you need to pay attention to what people like. You don’t need hours a day, you need consistency. You don’t need the perfect niche on day one, because your first shop is just how you learn what sells.

The slideshow above is every excuse I’ve heard (and used), answered honestly. If even one of them sounds like you, that’s the one to challenge first.

When I first started my Etsy shop that email would send me 😭

“Congratulations! You’ve made a sale!”

I was so buzzing I wouldn’t even look at the price 😆 Didn’t matter. Didn’t care. Someone bought something I made and that was enough

And honestly? To this day that email still gives me a little feeling 😌 I don’t think that ever fully goes away

If you’re struggling for ideas of what to sell on Etsy 👀

Stop trying to invent something completely brand new 😅

Etsy is one of the biggest marketplaces in the world, the chances of you coming up with something that doesn’t already exist on there are pretty slim 😆

And that is completely fine 🌟

I am not saying copy people, I am saying look at what’s already selling, take some inspiration, and think about how you can make your own version of it 😌

Travel prints are a perfect example 👀

Loads of people make them, my shop is full of them, and not one of them looks exactly like anyone else’s 🌟 Because everyone brings something slightly different to the same idea 💪🏼

That is how it works and that is how it has always worked 🗣️ You don’t always need a completely original idea, you just need your take on a good one 🥰

So if you’ve been staring at a blank page waiting for a groundbreaking concept to come to you, stop waiting 😭

Go and look at what people are already buying, find something you could put your own spin on, and make it 🖼️

The idea is already out there. You just need to make your version of it 🌟

I woke up angry today 😤

I am SICK of people sleeping on the Etsy poster shop side hustle 😭

So I am going to say this one more time and then I am done 😤

People. Will. Spend. Money. On. Prints 🗣️

Real money. Good money. The kind of money that makes you do a double take when the notification comes in 💰

I don’t know where this idea came from that people aren’t willing to spend on the things they put in their homes, but it is wrong and it needs to stop 😆

People care deeply about what their walls look like. They will spend £30, £60, £100+ on the right print in the right frame without blinking 😌

I have the sales to prove it and I am tired of being the only one talking about it 😅

This side hustle is legitimate. The profits are real. And the people who have been sleeping on it are going to wake up one day and wish they’d started sooner 💪🏼

Story time of how I unlocked 3 sources of passive income across my Etsy poster shops 🤪

Here’s the bit nobody tells you: I had absolutely no clue what I was doing. I wasn’t an Etsy expert. I wasn’t a “business person”. I didn’t have a five-year plan or a vision board.
