2016 trend ..didn’t think I’d have many pics but then Facebook delivered some rough looking pics and dodgy selfies.

That was the year that I secured a Guinness World Record for pre Christmas promotion of client Buttercrane and made 400 local snowmen/women/kids holders of a Guinness World Record title ⛄️.

Loads of events and fashion shows - it was also the year I started doing social media content work. Being self employed was busy alongside home life with two gorgeous kids. It was also the year I turned 40 which means ….😳🤯

Buttercrane Centre, Newry, will close this trading year on a high as the opening of four new stores pushes occupancy levels to 98% and creates more than 30 new jobs in the city.

In the final quarter of the year, a total of 11,000 sq. ft has been let to a series of quality retail brands with the arrival of Rituals, Tipperary, Toytown and a supersized Louis Boyd.

Peter Murray, Centre Manager, said that in the current challenging trading environment this was a “significant milestone”.

“Investment by both the landlord and the various tenants totalled more than £1.2M this quarter and, significantly, 34 new jobs — both full and part time — have been created. As we move to the close of the year, this is a very welcome addition to the local economy," he added.

“On behalf of the landlord, management team and our vibrant trading committee, I wish Tipperary, Toytown, Rituals and the new supersized Louis Boyd every success as they begin Christmas trading in our scheme. This is a meaningful addition to our 52-strong store retail mix, and a real vote of confidence in the Centre and in Newry city as a retail destination.”

Inspired by Niamh from .videos (who featured on the Lorraine Kelly Show this morning with this new trend out 😮👏👏) I had to try this out. Arguably, this Catherine is a lot quieter and easy to manage than the real life version 😁. Comes complete with it's own coffee cup and an extra pair of heels lol!

I am proud to have supported the charity @ care for almost six years in a voluntary PR capacity. Since it's foundation, the Charity has made an amazing contribution to local families in South Down, who are caring for a loved one, at end of life, in their own home.

Since 2018, Life & Time Care has provided 846 home visits and 2792 nights of care to patients who have been referred by their local GP.

To mark their 6th anniversary, the charity and registered nursing agency is to host a unique event with 'Ireland's most famous undertaker' David McGowan -the subject of the Award-Winning Netflix Documentary, ‘The Funeral Director’.

The event, ‘A Good Death: In Conversation with David McGowan’, takes place in the on 22nd March and is free to attend.

Life and Time Director Henry McLaughlin said: “As a charity, we would encourage people to have conversations about their death and their own wishes. This aspect of ‘Advance Care Planning’ is something we want to highlight and David's personal mission aligns to ours – to open conversations and encourage people to have an understanding of their loved ones wishes as well as their own.

“He is a charismatic speaker - poignant and often humorous. He talks from the point of view of someone who has spent his life working in service of the dead, and we are delighted to have secured him for this special event.”

The event is designed to appeal to anyone with an interest in palliative care, those working in the medical and nursing sector, funeral undertakers and local people who are caring for a loved one, at end of life.

'In Conversation with David McGowan' takes place in The Whistledown Hotel Hotel, Warrenpoint on Saturday 22nd March at 7pm. Tickets are free but booking is essential. Please visit https://lnkd.in/e5D_3FhK to secure your ticket.

As we mark National Palliative Care Week, Life and Time (the end-of-life nursing charity) has confirmed that they have added 23 new nurses to service the Mourne region comprising Atticall, Annalong, Ballymartin, Kilkeel and Longstone and the service is due to go ‘live’ later this month.

Following a period of community engagement and recruitment Life & Time Care, is commencing services in the Mourne region end of September, to support patients at end of life who wish to die at home.

The Charity, a Registered Nursing Agency, was first founded in 2018 by Dr Henry McLaughlin, supported by a dedicated voluntary committee, to provide specialist end of life, on-call nursing services - initially to families in Warrenpoint, Burren and Rostrevor.

Demand grew and in 2021, the charity expanded the service to include Hilltown, Rathfriland and Mayobridge - delivered through a network of 76 local nurses.

This latest initiative will see the charity reach into the Mourne area, doubling their geographical span, supported by a team of 23 nurses. The service will 'go live' by the end of September. READ MORE HERE:
