A whole month since you passed away Mick Smith - my great friend and volunteer from Rothwell Arts and Heritage Centre.

Mick’s cheekiness always made me laugh and I loved all the great stories he’d tell me about growing up in Rothwell and also about his famous brother Jim Dale.

Mick set up the incredible exhibition about Jim at Rothwell Arts and Heritage Centre. It covers all about Jim’s life and show business career. Jam packed with photos from over the years and how Jim got into acting. 🤩

I told Mick the exhibition is like a graphic design heaven with the huge vibrant posters hanging all around! I love that Mick made most of the frames for these wonderful posters too. 😍

A fond memory I have of Mick is when he came into the heritage centre with a poster book to show me which he thought I’d like to see and guess what he was right! 🙌

I couldn’t resist taking a few photos from the book! I loved the colours, line drawings, patterns and text; all aspects that I love when I’m designing. I remember studying Aubrey Beardsley and Toulouse Lautrec at uni and being influenced by their style of illustration with the black outline and flat plain colours. 😍

On the day of Mick’s funeral we wore brightly coloured socks as requested by his family as he liked to wear them too. I remember once he asked if I was wearing my son’s socks … er no they’re mine!! 😝 😂

Thank you Mick for being a true leg end! 😝 Gone but definitely not forgotten ✨🥰✨

Brilliant family trip to see the panto Cinderella at yesterday afternoon. Loved the sets and costumes but the best part was seeing ‘the real Andy’ (as my sons said) from ! He’s so funny and so tall too! 🤣😍🤩

Phew that was a crazy week!! 🤪🤪

Started with a Christmas Fayre, accompanied by Christmas carols, dance and musical performances by and pupils, a wonderful nativity play, Christmas shopping with a lovely friend, volunteered at Rothwell Arts and Heritage Centre … where you can also grab a Festive Busy Box from! 🎁 🎄 Then kids’ doctor and dentist appointments, a birthday party tea, an epic kids’ Christmas party at Methodist Church and finally finishing with a poorly man flu husband!! 🎁🎄💃🏽🕺🏻 🤒 🤪

So this morning, I made time to sit down with a cuppa and do some mindfulness colouring in with one of my Festive Fun Placements! 🖍️💚🥰

The Busy Boxes are the perfect gift for kids to have some screen-free time! Or for the whole family to enjoy at the table while waiting for Christmas dinner 🎁🖍️🍽️

Such a wonderful atmosphere at the Christmas Tree Festival last night 🥰🎄🎄✨ The bagpipe band and Scottish dancing were amazing! 👏 ❤️ Big thank you to everyone that supported me and my little biz 😍 Alway great to chat with other creative people and have a looky at their stalls as well! ✍️ 📒 🧶 🎨 😍
