Wow, it feels like I haven't posted in ages! But in reality, it's only a couple of weeks. I actually get on my own nerves when I say I'm busy, I mean I have been busy, but that is not the issue here. The problem is bad organisation and overwhelm! So after a call with my coach yesterday where she told me to map out my activities for the week and get organised, I did by using one of my many planners that had been gathering dust and a new packet of highlighters that I had purchased with good intent. Still, they hadn't left the packet. I',m pleased to say that using a planner actually works! I am feeling a lot clearer and more organised today and am even going to sneak in a cheeky coffee with a couple of friends before the school run on this gorgeous autumnal day!

I hope everyone is doing ok, I will be coming to you with some Q4 marketing tips by the end of this week. Hands up if you have seen any Christmas ads yet?

Whilst eCommerce boomed as we were made to stay at home it is reported that 49% of consumers will expect to shop more frequently online after the pandemic, is this true for you?

Interestingly 60% of shoppers say that free delivery and returns would encourage them to buy from a brand, 43% would be encouraged by a quick and easy checkout process. So as we work on our strategies for Q4 , are you taking these things into consideration?

I saw a post on Facebook today. Someone was asking for a recommendation of a company or person to run their social media because in their words, 'it's a minefield out there!' It sure can feel like that sometimes. I feel like this too! I am constantly learning about the forever changing digital marketing landscape and look towards industry thought leaders for the next course, podcast or white paper! In fact, I would say that I spend about 40% of my time learning for me to be able to deliver the best results for my clients.

I have finally set a date for my FACEBOOK ADS FOR BEGINNERS workshop. Details are as follows

WHEN - Thursday 27th May @ 11am
WHERE - Zoom (of course)
WHO's it for? Anyone that may be running ads for their own business or employer
COST - £15

The workshop will last an hour and will be jammed packed full of information and tips to get you started with Facebook Ads, the session is £15 however I am aware that people have been hit hard by these times and I don't want those to miss out so please pay what you can.

It's not all about the ads. Your website needs to be able to convert visitors.

When starting out with any social media advertising, you need to make sure that your website is ready to handle those extra visitors that are going to be coming your way. If it's not, then all of the effort going into your social media marketing is a waste of time. Your website needs to be optimised, and your customer journey needs to be smooth. Test it yourself or ask friends to and ask for their feedback so you can take the necessary action.

Wowsers, what a week!

I haven't been on social this week because there's been a lot going on! Ad World Conference, Facebook changes and more importantly, the beginning of a Pinterest Ads course!

A post-purchase survey is simply one or more questions you show to your customer immediately after purchasing from you. This tiny window of time is a massive window of opportunity. Why? Because you're never going to capture someones attention as much as when they've just purchased from you.

The main focus of this survey is to ask, 'How did you hear about us?'
This is such a simple question, but it will tell you where you're marketing efforts are working and where to add more focus. We know from all of the changes that we can't rely on Facebook, Google or website analytics so in short, if you don't know where your customers come from, ask them.

Does anyone else have a partner that really dislikes social media?

I debate with my husband a lot about the right and wrongs of social media. This weekend, we discussed the impact of the iOS 14 update that will be rolling out over the next few months and the effects it will have on the digital marketing landscape. To be clear, if you click the button that stops other apps from tracking your movements across different apps, the result will be that you are going to receive less personalised ads. You will still receive ads! Personally, I like to see ads that are relevant to me and have discovered courses, products, and services that have quite possibly changed my life (extreme, I know!).

So iPhone users, will you be opting in or out?
