Did you know that in Buckingham Palace where Queen Elizabeth II worked has a hidden door?
The secret door and passageway, which is located in the Drawing room allows the Queen to enter the State Apartments.
At first look, the magnificent golden mirror and dresser is just like any other in the room, containing the same candlestick ornaments and decorative jars. But, if you look closely, the floor to ceiling mirror is a door, but you can also see the opening there.
A much smaller doorway that leads to the remaining Queen's private chambers is located behind the mirror. Additionally, the ornaments are firmly glued to the dresser surface, ensuring that nothing will fall or break when the door is opened.
This remarkable craftsmanship is an inspiration and good example for all interior designers out there.
