When I was asked who I thought would make good contributions to the list of trailblazing women in Plymouth for International Women's Day, I didn't hesitate.

My first thought was the RNLI and their amazing female volunteers at Millbay.

In this great compilation by Plymouth Voice we focus on two of the 13 women on their crew.

I have written extensively about the work of the RNLI and their volunteers while working for the Cornish Times and covering Looe. Their boat crews and whole teams are such an amazing bunch of people.

🎄 Despite plans to keep my tree up until Candlemas... it's done, and it's down.

The tree's twinkling presence was stopping me dead in my tracks keeping me in holiday mode!

Clearing the last of the decorations feels like hitting reset: new energy, new goals, and a renewed focus on the year ahead.

I have to say, that maybe they should have consulted a media reputation specialist before announcing his departure from the cabinet to take on this £70K... while keeping his Cllr role... and all ahead of an election that will most likely decimate their position in Cornwall. Just bizarre!
