DIGITAL SHREDDING

What it isn’t: The tearing of smartphones and devices into long, uniform strips.

What it is: The process of removing all personal data from the ID printer device, making it unrecoverable. Bear in mind that the printer ribbon itself will still retain the imprint of the information though, so this needs to be shredded securely after use.

What it isn’t: A new fuel made from hay derivatives that powers motor vehicles.

DPI.

What it isn’t: A rank in the police force.

We know a lot of stuff about ID Card printers.

So we also know that if you’re buying one for the first time, you probably don’t.

Here’s part 1 of 8 of our 'navigating the minefield of printer terms' guide. On each one we'll breakdown printer jargon into words that actually mean something.

1. BEND REMEDY

What it isn’t: Vitamins to help you recover from extreme Yoga.

What it is: A module that corrects card bending due to heat & pressure applied during the retransfer printing process. Usually just applies to single-side printing, and only in Retransfer card printers. Incorporating bend remedy gives you a flat card and can save on rejects if you're printing on expensive smart/RFID cards.

People talk.

People connect with people.

We say it all the time, but there’s no substitute for getting out of the building and meeting our customers face to face. Eye to Eye. Glass to glass.

And when it’s in the rather lovely surroundings of the Midland Hotel in Manchester, so much the better.

We’re really looking forward to the Hotel Forum on Thursday and Friday.

If you’re there, and you’d like to explore moving your Hotel Keycards and guest access products over to sustainable options, we’d love to talk.
